considering these are china prices, the EU prices will be much higher? 700 dollar China price might mean 1000 Euro EU price. For the non-pro model! If this is true, it's far too high...

They basically only use that with Redmi phones now (at least in China). Their flagships have adopted a different high profit margin strategy. They are hoping to change their image in China from low end to high end for the Xiaomi flagship series to compete with Huawei and to do that the phones have to be more expensive

India prices should below Rs.50000 for Pro and Mi 11 should be Rs.35000.00 then only fast sale possible.
They should introduce pro model in 5.8" also around 70% people prefer small screen.

Chinese phones are full of local components, while phones from Samsung, LG, Sony, Motorola are not. Also, the suppliers are near them and no need to pay import taxes.
