After my personal experience with bada, I will never again buy a phone with OS that is not well used by many. Right now I can see that Tizen is going to be the new bada - another brand new OS with great potential will be killed. People, don´t wait for Tizen. This isn´t the last delay. We will notice more delays with firmware upgrades on Tizen. I still have bada OS but my next phone is going to be something different (maybe Android).

And as you comment as Samsung betraying itself please expand on that

Because i would take issue that there is only to major platforms at the moment Android and iOS so why would you spend millions upon millions on another OS that would have a really hard time catching attention. We can look at Microsoft OS to see how hard they having it.

What about people who have purchased Bada phones already. Do we get upgraded to Tizen?

Bada has been an underestimated operating system and Samsung produced some excellent quality devices running Bada, such as the Wave II (which also boasts a superb standard of construction). Many of the TouchWiz look and feel characteristics of Samsung's Android based devices originated from Bada and prior to that the Java based Samsung Jet.

Arron, 22 Aug 2012I loved maemo and was looking forward to this :( think i ma... moreMaemo already got a bit messed up when it merged with Moblin to become MeeGo. Now Tizen is a mix of MeeGo and LiMo. Probably some Bada elements in it too. Doesn't look like, and probaly won't feel like, Maemo did. The UI looks more like a combo of ios and Android. And they have to start new appstore etc.

Waste of effort. Main question is which new elements can they bring to the table that the current three kings can't? And delays doesn't exactly inspire to much confidence.

I would have understood it if we only had ios and Symbian available, since they are moving forward so slowly. But the progress in both Android and WP has been significant, and by the looks of it, Tizen won't give us anything new.

Why try to become the next WebOS? Or like any of it's already 4-5 predecessors (Maemo, Moblin, MeeGo, LiMo and Bada all failed)

If they move quickly, they may get a hold in the Smart TV market, not just in Sammy TVs.

You can't assume that it hasn't taken into account its resources before delegating these OS build tasks to its teams. From a conglomerates perspective, its not worth rushing.

Gee Thanks for Cashing out to the same OS that rinses and repeats the same formula over and over. Let me put useless cores in it, it needs it to run smoothly.

Anyway, I'm going back to MeeGo. Intel, you had your chance. Now it's all about Jolla. :-)
