Since almost a year I am here, over 1700 posts and most of them defending features like pop up or 3.5mm Jack, written in a lot of different ways, the answers were always the same and equally mean, but making the comment aggressive allow more chances to open people's eyes on some truths.
Plus, when something is extremely invasive, you need to aggressively fight it.
If you have rats invasion at home, would you politely ask them to leave?
Or call pest control?
People disagreeing with unpopular/different opinions doesn't make it wrong, in fact looking at history and at typical people behavior, it is almost always the unpopular opinion which is right, of course I am talking about reasonable things (and the fact that I have to give this disclaimer basically prove the point itself).
And a hole in the display is as "logic" as putting a hole in a car's windshield in front of the driver so he doesn't have to deal with the whippers, there is a reason why no other devices with a display adopted this thing.
The solutions already exists :
Pop up, flip up, slider phone, second display on the back, or ditching the front camera.

If you have rats invasion, would you ask them to leave or put food outside your house so they nicely not eat your house away?
Or you use poison or call pest control?
The fact no one agree simply means that I have unpopular opinions, it doesn't it is wrong, I think differently a i don't care about norms, if everyone do something and consider it normal because that's how everyone else also do it, but I see a better way, I don't care that it is "normal".
Like I find it stupid that sinks does by default have a pedals for foot control, it would be cleaner and save ton on water.
I find it stupid that hot water between the tap and the hot water tank is left to cool, it could be "recycled" in a temporary tank for being used as cold water latter, or in a 3 way temperature mixer when it isn't too cold yet, or used for the toilets, rather than having to wait for hot water to come out of the tap.
I find it stupid that doors aren't by default sliding ones, it would save space as an opened door is stupidly space wasting, and it would make forcing front door almost as hard as going through a wall.
I could continue all day and go over almost everything in everyday life that everyone accepts without questioning just because everyone else already do it, but I don't care how many people do it or find it normal, it if it stupid, I ain't afraid to say so.

And you literally represent the combination of all wrongs sentences at once, the only thing missing would be that you say "the 3.5mm Jack is useless because wireless is better", and if I talked about thicker devices you mentioned the Energizer phone, then you'll be the ultimate "I can't write without writing one of the biggest clichés".
Who said huge bezels?
I literally spend my time writing "Meizu 16 series", "Nubia Red Magic", "Black Shark".
Saying bezels doesn't mean huge ones.
Many want smaller phones anyway, and don't blame on the bezel if they kept wanting to make 1000:1 display ratio while 2:1 is the best.
Thicker phones are missing on the market anyway, they provide better handling for many and allow bigger batteries, they also prevent the space excuse for removing the Jack.
The ONLY dust related issue so far is a temporary jam that is easily fixed with the calibration feature.
How and who need instant selfie ?
The camera app take over a second to start, and even without a pop up take time to switch camera, them take time to capture the image, in fact taking a screenshot of the camera app is much faster.
The company didn't drop it, and the only reason it lost its popularity is because of people like you constantly bringing imaginary issues with key words "wear", "water", "dust", "moving part", "fragile", "waterproof/IP rating", "drop", "rain" despite the pop up having proved more than enough to be reliable, tough and having almost no failure report to be found.
That what scared customers away from what would/should have been the best full display solution that also help privacy.
Thr vast majority of phone owners with a pop up are really satisfied, and those are among the most popular devices such as OnePlus 7(t) Pro, Poco F2 Pro, K20 Pro/MI 9T Pro, Oppo find X, which by the way, is the reason Oppo became popular.

Popup adds extra mechanical parts and makes phone thick and heavy ,prone to dust inside parts ,also not good for sudden requirement...so,the companies started dropping it

I see tons on people complaining about it, but I never saw anyone giving a good valid reason against bezels or pop up or 3.5mm Jack.
LG does follow trend and is on the same state as Sony, Sony is already niche and without bezels it probably would have actually sunk.
But it isn't about trends, Sony have a huge and strong fan base, many are still using old Sony devices as those are quality lasting products.
HTC did follow the trend, what they actually lack is unique products, they also don't have any phones running on SD855, 855+, 865 or 865+, they clearly lack diversity, their features are meh and their phones are overpriced.
In the smartphone market, trends have nothing to do with what people want, the sooner people will understand and accept this fact, the better it will be, as you have to understand a problem to solve it.
This is why the 3.5mm Jack is dying despite almost every one still wanting it, and why 2Mp sensor is a trend despite no one wanting it.
There are ton of poll showing that bezel are more popular than punch holes, only polls from the beginning of the hole period are in its favor.
Summary : Diversity wins, not trend.
Everyone has different tastes, making a SINGLE phone design is utterly stupid, we need a fair amount of each options, it would be much easier for phone manufacturers to make sub-variant with different designs (notch, hole, bezel, pop up, underdisplay camera, etc, curved display , flat display , camera setup, smaller variant, etc) than people say it is, each phone could easily have a dozen sub variant, it wouldn't change much update wise.
Having enough of each to allow choices, and simply produce more or less of each depending on the demand, THAT is what we need, not 95% of phones with either a hole or a notch.
The first brand to do that would tap into so many niches at once by allowing combinations of things, that it's sales would skyrocket if the phone is good.

If it was so nice, why would we need underdisplay camera in the first place?
Also if it was so beloved, why would the real most hatred feature of all times, the ultimate disgrace, the number one complaint maker, abomination supreme, be its final forms, the double punch hole? (both elongated or two side by side).
The punch hole is a waste of space INSIDE the display, it isn't better than a bunch of dead pixels, if you had a square of dead pixels small enough to fit into your punch hole, you'll return your phone.

All that for a camera, before the notch came and ruined everything, bezels started to get a lot of amazing sensors as the Galaxy S8 and S9 were the first to have.
Unlike iOS who use the status bar only to display status informations, such as Wi-Fi, time, Bluetooth, GSM signal, etc...
Android also rely on this to show notifications, which is one of, if not THE most important part of the Android UI.
Even the smallest punch hole cut at least the space for two icons which is a lot in an already too small status and notification bar in modern times where the average user have more apps than ever.
Only the Meizu 18 series have the originality of merging it with the round battery icon, which is also a phone with one of the most beautiful quad cameras arrangement, there is a lesson to learn here.
Heck, even phone makers are ashamed of it, in most phone presentation pictures, they attempt to hide as much as possible the punch hole with wallpapers that are darker where it is and other similar shapes/colors that minimize its appearance.
The bezel and the pop up are much better than any punch hole.
