Anders, 24 Dec 2020I thought they are encrypted by default..? I haven't n... moreRegular chats are encrypted by default (as in can't be decrypted in transit by the middlemen for eg. ISPs) but they aren't end-to-end encrypted i.e Telegram servers can still decrypt your messages. Secret chats on the other hand are end-to-end encrypted and can only be decrypted by the recipient.

give me 1 company that have more than millions user that still free. You know it's need cost to remain good service, than how the hell you keep the good service without cost? it's still good even with ads that not really annoying and fees for business user.
if you disapointed with this decision, just move to another chat app, simple

I don't have a problem with the need to monetize. That's logical, I only point out the obvious.

I'd be using a modded version with all the analytics and advertising disabled.

It's baned bcuz Durov disagreed on letting Russian & Iranian government having access to telegram's servers. However telegram has 50m user in iran by now and we are using it with proxy and vpn.

I had to keep Whatsapp account too, because nobody from my work place is using Telegram.
