2020 Winners and Losers: vivo

01 January 2021
Silent and unimpressive year for the company that saw some flashes throughout the year.

Sort by:

Vivo arriving in Europe= winner? The X51 came 6 months after the X50pro...with pure Android and all 4G bands (++) but 200€ more expensive that the X50pro (---- !!!)....So in fact, that's a big fail...

The only thing v20 pro has good is battery and display quality,it's definitely better than those rainbows on OnePlus may not have 10000hz refresh rate thou

Impressive 64mp camera v20 pro,you got be nuts, its the worst camera on a phone ,ultra wide has severe purple fringing, that nonsense auto focus shift from normal lens to macro is disgusting, main lens has focus issues for close ups, ultra blown out highlights ,the shittest camera ,I guess review units are sent different from these companies like OnePlus, realme, oppo, vivo because they certainly are different from retail ones

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2021do you work for mediatek or something lmaoWhat makes you think so? Despite MTK cheating with benchmarks, real graphical performance in games for example of Dimensity 820 trashes 765G. And they made a huge leap in performance in 2020, unlike Qcom with its 730 derivatives(730g, 720g, 765/765g)
So except your LMAO - no real counter-arguments have been given in your reply. Same way I can say - are you a Qualcomm fanboy or smth?

QC is losing its midrange power gap.
Kirin 810,820 (of 2018), Dimensity were equal/better SD765g ,and this year Exynos also went from 9611>1080.

Dimensity will never be as popular as Snapdragon 6xx and 7xx.

Can someone explain what's so impressive of the 720g and 765g?

Qualcomm had the weakest midrange socs in 2020 compared to mediatek's dimensity series

They even lost the number one spot to mediatek in marketshare

The 765 was destroyed by the 1000L and then buried by the dimensity 820 Qualcomm panicked and launched the 768 which is only in one smartphone

Now Qualcomm has an answer in the 775 thats boasting 50% or higher gains, not because they are generous but because of the pressure from mediatek

Lastly their new 750G is worse than the 800U in gpu performance, battery life and years behind in thermal management
