Weekly poll: the Xiaomi Mi 11 is the first S888 powered phone, but is that enough to want one?

The faster chipset enables AI-based video night mode - an improvement, even though the camera is mostly the same.

Qhd screens should be noticeable sharpness increase, since its just pentile. I see a difference between my old 1080p lcd and new 1080p oled pentile phone, same display size.

SD 888 was nice, but it only let u choose power efficiency or power. It uses less power for the same amount of transistor used. But if u use more transistor, it uses more power.
Not to mention that it was more than what we can use, render the power useless.
And I hate mi 11 screen, curved upwards, not for bottom of the screen. I don't even think QHD is even used, even Samsung degraded to 1080p display.
Mi 10 only curved sides, and that camera bump won't be seen as a copycat ( of apple) at least.
    Camera has no improvement.
Just gorilla glass virus, and more expensive.

fix polls on mobile pls, half of it is cut off

gp007, 10 Jan 2021Idk how much you are expecting out of the sd 888, It's... more better power efficiency than the 865 atleast. Idk why you mention the price of the phone here, the mi 10 was exact same price.

e, 05 Jan 2021The Mi 9T Pro already has a successor, the Mi 10T Pro.I mean a spiritual successor, like the Poco F2 Pro is basically the Mi 9T Pro successor, what I wait for is the spiritual successor of the Poco F2 Pro.
Or more precisely, the next Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco smartphone with a high-end chipset (SD865, 865+, 875, 888), a fulldisplay and a pop up camera, a 3.5mm Jack, an IR, NFC and all the good things.
If it can also get a good camera setup, the main can be a IMX 686 I won't mind, the Ultra-Wide can be meh I also won't mind, but I really hope they kept the Tele-Macro and updated it to 8Mp and that they will put a Telephoto.
Now THAT would be a phone I wouldn't pass, and if they add wireless charging, big battery (9+mm thick), and inherit the Gorilla Glass Victus the Mi-11 (which is the base for all new/next gen Xiaomi smartphones, as was the Mi-10 and the Mi-9), it would be perfect, the only additional things I would want aren't common or were never made and have like 0 chances to be made yet sadly...

I wonder when gigantic-sized phone trends will end.

If they made a mini model with similar specs (ignoring the obviously necessary drop in battery capacity), I would buy it in a heartbeat.

The phone is simply too damn big for me. I wanna use it one handed, I wanna be able to take it out of my pocket while sitting down, I want it to *fit* in my pocket without hassle. I can't do that with such a big phone.

The iPhone 12 mini seems like the only option for me in terms of a flagship mini phone. In terms of hardware I would love to buy a similarly sized Mi 11 but sadly they don't offer that, so iPhone it is (unless Xiaomi announces a decent mini phone within the next few months).
