Still ridicolously stupid, i don't care it is foldable or not, definitely overpriced junk. There could be miracolous devices but with those devices all the time must come sensible prices, no one should even look into any foldable phone until it hits lower than 999 mark period

Design is a subjective matter. But I don't think Moto Razr pretty at all compared to Z Flip.

Couldn't agree more with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 being in the number one spot. No candy bar smartphone on the market comes close to the experience. Have had mine since launch, and the wow factor hasn't worn off yet. Before the GZF2, I solely purchased Galaxy Note devices for personal use. Now, however, I can't ever go back. The Galaxy Z Fold2 has changed the way I prefer to interact with mobile devices forever as the experience is second to none.

I initially planned to keep the Fold2 as my primary device for many years to come, but as I previously stated, I was a Note owner. The large display and stylus are the perfect combination. With the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 set to come with a stylus as well, it will surpass everything I've ever wanted out of a smartphone. I'm pretty sure I'll be picking one up to replace my Fold2.

Show me reviewers putting any mid-rangers on their top 5 phones. They all only put flagships.

Oh you are so wrong and maybe you should immediately take a lengthy vacation and then quit.

JES, 04 Jan 2021Nah, this is the most interesting top 5 yet, at least it hi... moreI agree. This list has a range of brands, prices, models and features. I think more lists should contain more categories such as 'best alternate form factor' to make the list better. I can't wait to see more people's opinions on other tech products, especially 3rd Generation folding phones.

potato4k, 04 Jan 2021It's funny how reviewers only talk about the expensive... moreAs a tech enthusiast, I find it very disrespectful that you say that. Reviews are from what people have experienced with the phone, and of course flagship models are going to be better than a budget device. People put a lot of effort in sharing their opinions, and it is haters like you who stop people from pursuing their passions. If you were given the choice between a $200 phone or a $1500 phone, of course you would prefer the more expensive model because it will be better. So if people give their opinions, the polite thing to do is listen and share yours in a non- aggressive way. If you have different thoughts on a product, than you can't take it out on other peoples thoughts, reviews or experiences.

I really like this list and agree with some of the phones. The iPhone 12 mini definitely deserves a spot for being the best compact smartphone there is in 2021. All of the improvements over the XR and the 11 are obvious, and for those who like a larger screen, Apple is kindly offering the 12 at just $100/£100 more. Both are very good flagships and most people would be happy with the battery and performance from a tiny phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Z fold 2 is definitely the most improved smartphone of the year. The first generation was very lacking and at a high price, it was ignored for being ridiculous. The 2nd Generation is much better, but the holepunch for the camera is still in a strange position. I am very glad to see that you can use the smaller screen as a proper phone now, but I think the main complaint would be the thickness of the device. I hope this will be fixed with future models, and who knows... maybe foldable smartphones are the future?

potato4k, 04 Jan 2021It's funny how reviewers only talk about the expensive... moreThat's dumb. Go make your own list then.

The iPhone 12 mini and Z fold 2 seems to be getting the votes from gsmarena staff.

Not that people can or cannot afford it, but simply impractical and non realistic.
