12 bits, at last. But, they are skipping over everything else.

Unless you have an led per red, green and blue subpixel, you are loosing qualify. Without that, you need a panel that can deeply control light on the pixel level, like the dual LCD Chinese models (which are just very well implemented). You will get light bleed around pixels which are in a led light zone. Now. The Chinese have been doing various panels with many times the leds for years, mainly in China. Samsung was so impressed with their performance, they have extended their LCD use. Doesn't really spell superior in house technology. I would have bought the Hisense top end model a few years ago, instead of Samsung, except it was not a true 10 bit label. The Hisense outclassed it in color gamut, brightness and price, and even being a class above the Samsung in colour gamut, still wasn't the best you could get, despite what Samsung talks about it's quantum dot color gamut performance. When I adjusted the Hisense in store, compared to the Samsung, the ashes man was blown away at his much I got out of the Hisense (which otherwise want as good as the Samsung, and would require a good media box). The models the following year here I saw, from both companies, were worse (but I din't know if I saw one of the Hisense top models).

Let's look at this, no real mention of colour gamut, or quantum dot technology. The superior way is to use a quantum dot color filter in front of the pixels. This was announced years ago, but was not used. Instead, it is being reserved for the blue OLED set, which didn't come out, leaving last year's models lacking. Another superior technology which Panasonic had years ago, used in a professional grading monitor, is dual layer LCD, but with 12 times more pixels than the Chinese one. Basically identical top and bottom LCD panels. However, this created problems on viewing angle. They were to design a new LCD to get around that problem scrapped that to use OLED and microled. The LCD should have been out one or two years ago, and been very good compared to OLED or Microled (note, as they release an expensive technology model, the old lesser range performance drops. Then the new one, not much better than the previous, looks a lot better My TV looked a lot worse for a while between software updates too. And Tizen, out it thus way. I go into PVR recordings, and the more you have the slower it takes to display the recordings list, and eventually just hangs for long periods. Something which should take a blink of the eye). So, they were expecting to launch the OLED when the models dipped, but that got pushed back.

They have not mention of the light spreader technology to part fix viewing angles. Such a thing combined with quantum dot color filter and dual layer, in such a way to solve viewing angle shifts with these technologies, would make for a very good TV with the new led technology. However, the use of controllers which struggled to get much more than 1000 led control chips in the past, has restricted performance. If they could get 1000 zones accross, and over 500 down, that would help a bit with the dual layer. This is the sort of territory where you could use larger Microled technology, but the Chinese were doing something like this amount of leds. There were a few special models, one was like 32 thousand leds, and I think one was talked about with half a million.

The point is, where is Samsung trying?

I want it all in my home.

It's a horrible nightmare called Tizen, it's like putting touchwiz on windows mobile, yeah I know, terrible times.

Their UI without accept all the terms ans conditions is all less user friendly. Media play is also a shit compared to competitors. Can't play a lot of formats and content... LG rocks against them in TV department. And in the phones division both are no trash in what they offer for the price you pay...
