UnCertainty, 10 Jan 2021The G9 has 240Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits brightness. ... moreWhat kind of business user would buy a G9?

The G9 has 240Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits brightness.

This monitor doesn't come close to competing with G9.

I don't understand why monitors are made without advancing their feature set. A bunch of USB ports? That's not what a person buys a monitor for. They need to focus on the proper features of the panel not a bunch of add ons people can buy separately if that want it.

YUKI93, 07 Jan 202140" curved screen with 32:9 aspect ratio? Looks intere... more$2100 for a 60hz, 300cdm, 5ms, no sync, screen is a LOT of money. I'll pass.
Would love to see a 40-42" Ultrawide, 1600P (yes 1600) with at least 75hz, ideally 100+hz, 400cdm IPS panel for gaming that is in the £700-750 range. It's do'able, whether we see it or not though, that's the question. iIyama had a 43" 4k 75hz 4ms IPS panel available for about 3 months in 2020 until the panel manufacturer pulled them and they were only ~£450.

As a Ultrasharp user for the last decade or so these releases are disappointing. The 27-inch 1440p they released are good but still stuck at 60 Hz. In 2021 that's more a comical thing than 1080p. Probably should stick with my U2415 a little while longer.

YUKI93, 07 Jan 202140" curved screen with 32:9 aspect ratio? Looks intere... moreG9 is more of a gaming monitor, most likely connecting to powerful GPU directly. HDMI 2 / DP 1.4. No thunderbolt or usb c.

This one is more of a productivity monitor. It includes thunderbolt 3 for PD.. good for ultrabooks and such.

I think they appeal to different audience.

40" curved screen with 32:9 aspect ratio? Looks interesting. This could be a worthy alternative to the Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor.

Unfortunately the bottleneck is with thunderbolt 3 / 4 connection. Thus these displays can only operate at 60hz.

A fully loaded DP 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 will take up all the bandwidth in a thunderbolt 4 cable.. leaving almost none for the rest of the stuff.

Now haters can see there is no 4K 21:9 without crop.
                          Beyond 5000 is 5K already.
                          So, there is no 4K 21:9 with 2160 p.
