And so far, the phone weight was around 150-160 grams and that was reasonable. 220-230 gram weight is not for phone, Better buy a tablet and use that instead.

I don't think they can even be used as Phone for a day? Both Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi etc. are making shit now days and calling that flagship devices which does not has basic feature like 3.5mm Jack and and are too heavy to carry that you will need a crane to move from one place to another.

Cyberchum, 10 Jan 2021I don't like the many variants of a device (same with ... moreYeah, true, the issue though is that most consumers are the average person who don't know anything about phones.

I mean, how many of the buyers can even understand the difference between a "2Ghz SoC" and "2GB of RAM"?
                So, yeah.

But even there, if each sub-group-brands could made their own personalisation to the re-branded phone and make it, not "unique", but fitting a certain spirit, it would be nice!
And it wouldn't be that hard, even third party like Caviar can mod quite a lot a phone after all.

But brands have like 20 models a year, but they are all the same designs and concepts, the same type of specs that are the minimum to make it a certain price range is changing, and on top of that, the sub brands make basically the exact same models with only the names to tell them apart...
To make matters worse, sub-brands like Redmi or Poco are also rebranding but for some markets only, only to throw everything away and sell to other markets too...

So even those who know basically have no option available...

AnonD-909757, 09 Jan 2021The ONLY point of making multiple version of something, is ... moreI don't like the many variants of a device (same with sub brands of a company) but it's purely a matter of rewarding business tactics. One that tries to confuse the consumers and increase the sales of the company. It's now up to the consumers to get more knowledge/information and be decisive.

It shouldn't be hard for one to know why they do it, or how potentially rewarding it is: if A wants to get a phone with some choice specs, and 5 phone from 5 different companies come up. OPPO xxx, LG xxx, Samsung xxx, Motorola xxx, and the Redmi xxx; what is the probability of BBK making a sale? 1/5.

Compared it, for eg, to when 10 phones come up: OPPO Find xxx, OPPO Reno xxx, Vivo V xxx, Vivo X xxx, Realme V xxx, LG xxx, Samsung xxx, Motorola xxx, and the Redmi xxx; what is the probability of BBK grabbing the sale? 5/10. The odds just got improved by 400%

It shouldn't be hard to understand for anyone with understanding of basic economics and how businesses work, especially in an uber-competitive market like the smartphone industry.

When we this oppo reno 5 5G pro lunch in the Philippines?

                      This is getting ridiculous.
Please stop rebranding virtually identical phones, it's really stupid.

Anonymous, 09 Jan 2021thats why W series of LG failed in india too & they pl... moreWrong, it isn't a failure, it is a niche product, and they knew from the beginning it wouldn't sell millions of units, it is still profitable and probably reached the selling goal, a phone doesn't need to be sold at 10 millions units to be a success, look at CAT phones with a FLIR camera, do you think it is aimed at general consumer and expected to sell millions of phones ?

Considering how special the LG Wing is, 50k is actually a really great number, mainly factoring the high price tag twice that of some phones with flagship SoC like the Poco F2 Pro still available at 400€/$ in some places and having a SD865, while the LG Wing have a high-mid range SD765G.

If anything, they did prove that totally different, unique and niche devices are actually profitable, you also have to consider that the LG Wing probably haven't been in any physical store nor sold by most carriers across the globe, making this device probably only known by people who are into tech and stay on touch about it, I am sure I can talk with any seller in any phone store in my city and none would have heard of this phone, which make this phone even more successful than you might think.

Had the exact same phone been made by a brand regular customers know, like Samsung, and had it been available in stores and most carriers like other phones are, it would have sold millions for sure.

YUKI93, 09 Jan 2021That is why I actually applaud Apple and Sony for keeping t... moreWell, that's complicated, we actually need many models, but not like currently where there is no diversity at all, it is almost useless as most phones are basically more or less the same with few differences.

Sony don't make any diversity among its own phones but at least they are different from the rest, that's a great thing that they didn't fall for the bad trends.

On the iPhone side, ironically, this year they bring more diversity than Android by number of available phone, they have a mini that isn't a super low end, they have one with bezel, they have a medium one, a big one, which compared to the Android mix, is already more diverse, and yes I know there are some phones with bezels beside Sony, but it isn't a handful of phones against hundreds of others that really make up for diversity.

LG too lack diversity, it is still either a punch hole or a teardrop notch like the rest, square camera island in the top left corner of the back, 2Mp Macro and 2Mp Depth madness...
At least they didn't yeet the 3.5mm Jack and stayed away from the curved edge display (for now).

& they planning to outsource lower-end phone manufacturing to cut costs(december 2020 news)

but its better they doing this movement not just for lower-end phones

LESS THAN 50 THOUSAND LG WING HAVE BEEN SOLD SO FAR🤪😂

LG Wing compeletly has failed in the market
this is provided that in South Korea
one of the largest cellular operators even offers this smartphone with a 50% discount.

They were counting on the sale of two million units world wide😯😁

Why not rebrand Reno5. Pro to X3 Lite?
