Wily2021, 10 Jan 2021Problem with these old dogs is the fact that they use old t... moreThat's a strange comment.

Xperia phones have been on par with other top-end phones when it comes to camera and video quality pretty much every single year. Show me a picture/video taken with any other phone and I will show you an equally good one or better taken with Xperia. If you have any knowledge about photography and would like to use sometihng beyond point-and-shoot auto capabilities then Xperia has always been a better choice than for example the equivalent Iphone.

And funny that you mention smartwatches. I don't know who you are referring to as the ones changing the market here.

Is it Apple with their butt-ugly gizmo that need to be charged every single day? Or Garmin, Suunto, Polar? They are all great at being a fitness tracker / lifelog ( I have Garmin Fenix 6s myself) but let's be honest, they're not exactly something you wear when when you're going out or on a business trip.

Look to Sony for that, and their fabulous Sony Wena wristbands. Which might lack certain features compared to Garmin/Apple, but is the sexiest smartwear that exists. You can use it with any watch you have. I have the Wena3 bundled together with my classy Seiko Astron.

    Check for yourself:
    https://japan.cnet.com/article/35160314/

If that's not innovation then I don't what it. And yes, it tracks both my sleep, vo2 level, steps etc, and gives me notifications just as good as any other smartwear I've used. And you can also pay with it, and unlike other smartwear the chip is actually on the correct side so you don't have to twist your hand every time.

And the reason why nobody mentions Sony when it comes to best wireless speakers for Google (in your country) is because Sony didn't release ther Google Assistant devices there. In Japan they do, and believe me, It blows both Google's own devices and definitely Apple's homepod out of the water when it comes to sound quality. How do I know? Because I've tested them all. I have high hopes for these 2 new as well, but I will of course read proper reviews and hopefully have a listen myself (and not the hipster geek ones which seems to be the most popular ones) before splurging.

I don't understand your comment about pocket cams, but if anything, Sony is the one that innovates the most within both professional quality video and photo equipment aren't they? Just look at their Alpha series, or cine-cams etc.

Wily2021, 10 Jan 2021Problem with these old dogs is the fact that they use old t... moreWhich xperia uses same cam hardware of other phones?

Gru, 10 Jan 2021LoL... Apple is not even in the game with speakers! Hahhaha... moreProblem with these old dogs is the fact that they use old tricks, while companies like Apple and others bring new tricks like that compunational stuff. Just like Sony does best mobile camera tech and yet their own smartphone cameras aren't anywhere near as good as competition with same hardware, because they lack in the software area and can't get full potential from their camera system.

I think Sony will have same problem in wireless speaker market. For example think about that new feature for HomePod mini where you are able to send Messages across the home for other speakers and devices. That's so useful. This speaker won't be able to do that and neither many other tricks. It's whole new ball game now, just like smartwatches are changing the watch market. Just like smartphones are changing the way how we paid for stuff and so on.

There's new players in town who have new set of skills in their pockets and i'm not sure Sony is able to keep up with these wireless smartspeakers. If you check from Google best wireless speakers there's not much mention about Sony. When people think buying wireless speakers i think Sony isn't top of the list for many and not even list at all.

I'm big fan of Sony from my earlier years, but i understand Sony just doesn't have same status anymore which they used to have. It's like Nokia, old generation knows it and it means lot of them. But current generation couldn't care less about Nokia, neither Sony. It's just how the things are now.

Haven't you noticed that in phone business those old dogs which have been there always barely surviving now? Except Samsung who is still doing Ok.

Haven't you noticed what happened to pocket cams from those big companies who been here 75 years ;)

You are clearly Sony fan so you just have to start to understand that the markets are changing and they change fast!

                  Expensive :/

I said "Wow! It almost sounds like it's coming out of the speaker on my phone!". The ding at the end, wasn't very good though, that definitely sounds like it was coming out of my phone. I would also love to have that fancy 3D volumetric light wave show from this, in my room (He all says sarcastically).

What's the actual spec here. There was a British manufacturer doing immersive sound field audio, but it was fairly low frequency range

Sony SRS-RAxxxx series. As always Sony names its products technically.
                                      SRS-RA means Speaker_Roomfilling_Sound_-_Reality_Audio

That’s one ugly speaker. The smaller one looks nice but the brown extra colour is limiting factor. Surprised they did that. These wireless speakers are part of home design nowdays and that colour needs certain style of design, just like all the ad material have brown woody rooms.
