I've been looking at other brands but LG doesn't have anything that I'm interested in. Would love to try one of their phones but nothing is an improvement from my Note 9 that I can tell.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2021Innovation!!! Granted this is innovation, it is not what we need at this time.
We need to go back to removable back plates on phones so when a battery has issues (which they will with the insanely fast charging craze) to avoid so many complete devices in landfills. Battery recycling programs have been in place for a long time if I'm not mistaken.
And why not be innovative with developing a longer lasting products instead of the disposable items we currently have. 10 year life span for refrigerators, dishwashers, and even less for laundry sets.
I have 2 LG tv's I bought a month apart and both ran out of warranty this past December. What starts happening randomly then turns into a non functioning device, both tv's.
Washer and drier issues, drier has cheap plastic internals that deformed due to heat and now catches on clothes and wreaks havok. Washer has a weird wobble which I thought was because somehow it became unbalanced, nope! They used an aluminum carrier / bracket to connect to the stainless steel drum which corroded and causes odd vibrations. Parts are almost as much as a new washer.
Stop creating useless gimmicky products and return to making quality durable products.

Other than that, as much as people want innovation it will be insanely hard to move away from the current glass slab's that we are used to. It seems to be the best form from putting it in your pocket to using it.
No unfolding, no rolling, no flipping. Just unlock and go. Just my opinion is all.

I never praise a technology that costs a kidney but solves zero real world problems. There is very little innovation in the smartphone industry today.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2021This tech is indeed too expensive. More than foldable scr... moreThis is from Tom's Guide
"An LG Rollable leak in December on the LG Rollable said that the phone display would grow to as large as 7.4 inches in tablet mode with a resolution of 2428 x 1080. The leak also said to expect a Snapdragon 888 processor and 16GB of RAM, as well as a 4,200 mAh battery (which seems on the small side).

Unfortunately, the reported price of the LG Rollable is quite high at $2,359, which would be even higher than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2's retail price of $1,999. And the rumored release date for the LG Rollable is March."

From the Orientation and Movement across screen sizes on the Samsung Fold, it appears that the majority of Apps haven't been optimised for all display sizes and proportions. This will become even more apparent on rollable phones. This probably also needs better support on the Androidnolatform itself, too.
