Hmmmmmm.... my job as a graphics designer would be a lot easier with the specs on this phone! The camera I bet is outstanding and apps are plentiful except for the pen (and how do I not lose that pen??). I’d put it on AT&T’s 4G LTE network which gives me a really fast way to show potential clients my work with that beautiful resolution.

The screen of this phone is not much bigger than the original Note despite the increased diagonal measurement because the aspect ratio is different . If you calculate the screen area you will find that the original Galaxy Note had a 12.15 square inch of screen real state and the Note II has a screen area of 12.92 square inch while if Galaxy Note II had the same aspect ratio of original Note and the same 5.5 inch diagonal measurement then the screen area would be 13.59 square inch

i was disappointed initially since they did not market this screen as super amoled hd plus... but tests have shown that the note 2 is no longer using the pentile matrix!!!!! that makes this phone perfect... 720p led non pentile screen!! jelly bean!!! apple eat samsungs dust!!!!

                wownow i'm confused between sgs3 and note2
i like the more compact and curved design of sgs3, but i want the functionality of note2 and the s-pen.
For me the bad of note2:
                1. Though impressive and pocketable, but still a lot larger than any smartphone
                2. It do not have notification light which i want really bad
                3. Though curvier than note1, it is still "boxy". Not as sexy as sgs3

                Then good of note2:
                1. Beefier battery. 3100mAh. Wow!
                2. New and improved s-pen, said to give more natural handwriting experience.
                3. All the new software improvement including the jelly bean

So i think i'll just wait since it won't be released until october.
p.s i have the note1, and actually, i seldom use the s-pen, but i think s-pen is a great addition if you like to edit pictures and draw sketches

OMG OOOOOOOmyGOD what a phone Samsung asian mobile giant is just on fire, they just launching phones after phones n not just phones but I mean hits after hits. In short form I can say Samsung is just giving blockbuster hits after hits. Now only thing let is the iPhones 5 let's c what they come out with but ya one thing is sure iPhone 5 will have a slightly bigger screen than it's previous generation phones. Surely Apple must b inspired from the Samsung. It was a time when mobiles were a tiny screen and heavy piece of call phone. And now they are the biggest enemy of pc and laptops. May b on next 10 years pc and laptops will just b a part of our history.

I agree serious photogs use slr....but wth is aserious photographer?
The fact is MOSt people are not pros and DONT buy slr's. most poeple buy Dslr's and let me tell you, even the htc amaze has the ability to be on par if not better than some of the point and shoots.
more than likely youre like 65yo never had a real mobil phone and like to use film. Which is great but your statement is misleading.
I havent played with the pureview but from what I have heard its pretty close to slr blows away every other mobile camera wise and the pics are hard to tell between "pro" and "amatuer"

What is with the world's armchair haters?!?

People posting to say "I'm not buying it" - that's really nice to hear, but does anybody care?

Forums like this are for discussions, and hopefully intelligent ones at that...

Not "oh, reduced pixel count, rubbish" - really?! Is this what people are reduced to?

If you don't like it, don't buy it, and don't comment on it, because it's a complete waste of everybody's time when you do!!!

As for me, I think most phones now are in that 'gradual upgrade phase' - there's nothing really revolutionary you can now do with a phone, except keep increasing specs gradually... after all - it still has to be confined within the realms of being a phone...

If you like Nokia, go to a Nokia forum and pat yourself on the back... if you like Apple, go and do the same...

This forum is to discuss the SAMSUNG NOTE 2... let's try and keep it this way!!

It's clearly the most powerful phone on the market EVER.. and people still feel the need to neg it..

                                Get a life peeps...

This phone will easily last you two years (length of a contract nowadays) - it'll be offered free no doubt with carrier subsidy (UK anyway) - and what a brilliant investment it will be! Hopefully they'll do a media / speaker dock for it too!

Let's start focusing on positives and not just one or two lines of hate...

OK, so a Note II is an S3 with 15% bigger screen; 15% faster CPU; 48% bigger battery; 100% more memory; 9% thicker.

Same resolution + CPU = same software ;-)

Alternatives: LG Optimus G; iPhone 5
