Air Drop is yet another copied product. Zero innovation as expected.
Air drop as usual limited to iOS, while other apps are available to all users. Nobody wants apps that are not cross platform.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2021Lol WiFi direct sharing exists on Android since a decade. ... morePoint with AirDrop is that it doesn't need any app installed. No wonder why droidboys doesn't understand why iPhone / iPad is so popular :D If something work effortlessly people will use it, just like AirDrop is very popular and that's why Google is building their own version of it because no-one will have time to install some apps to do those tasks when needed. It has to be built in for a device.

There must be Atleast 1000 apps in the playstore.
Your air drop garbage works with Apple devices only.
We can transfer to any PC, any phone with these apps.
They gave this feature on Apple years later and have it a fancy name and you think Android can't do it? Lol.

JohnW1981, 13 Jan 2021Why is it free on iOS? I thought the Microsoft office apps ... moreGood news on the mouse support. I believe the app (Office 365) is free but the subscription isn't on devices larger than 10 inches screen, although the PWA version can be used. On the mobile app itself, it is still the 'washed-down' version which wouldn't be sufficient for any hardcore Office users yet for standard users, Office 365 mobile should be sufficient.

It runs faster than my PC without the heat and the noise of the fan, while I run 20 apps on MacOS. The CPU temperature just 40 C.

Android--Master, 14 Jan 2021Yes, You are right, there are lot of compromises. One cann... moreTransferring files using cables is the way to do in windows and Android phones. I have an iPhone, iPad and Mac and I can transfer huge files (by huge I mean several GB) in a few minutes with Air Drop. Air Drop is also handy when transferring files from an iPhone to another Apple device on the go. Try to send 200 photos from one Android phone to the other. Or a 2 GB movie. How? Using Bluetooth that would take a day? Or swapping Memory cards? Providing that your phone supports a card. You can transfer 200 photos or 2 GB movie between apple devices in less than 1 minute.

Also t... moreYes, You are right, there are lot of compromises.
One cannot transfer file more than 4gb from iPhone to Windows PC without iTunes.
Android phones never had to deal with such problems. Just seamless connect and play.
Android "the People's choice on smartphones" & Windows "the People's choice on PC platform" mesh so well together. One just doesn't want to quit those ecosystems and move towards something handicapped.

Being Apple user just gives best of both worlds, competition always want to make their software for Apple because they know how important market it is. Many times we get the new stuff even before their own users get them.

Also the latest M1 based MacBook will turn you into a dongle zombie everywhere you go due to lack of ports.

This is why Surface Pro with Windows is the best tablet.
Mouse support, multi windows hahhaha If these are the updates you get on these apps, it clearly tells you how un-optimized and handicapped the whole experience is.
On My surface Pro, I can just get my tasks done without worrying about support like this.
Same with Photoshop, can actually get my work done with a proper precision mouse.
Stylus doesn't work for me in certain scenarios as I am used to a mouse.
Once again, the Surface Pro offers full functionality, zero compromise experience along with choice.
Remember the word "CHOICE" is alien on other ecosystems.

Microsoft should save the best features for windows devices. iPads, Android devices and chrome books should be given office that is good enough but leaves the user wanting more
