Lyndino, 14 Jan 2021What would be the advantage of under clocking it?Under clocking can provide longer battery life as the chipset won't sip a lot of battery power. But the disadvantage of doing so is lower performance, especially during mobile gaming in a higher setting.

Now this is intriguing. Either Qualcomm will make an underclocked variant of the 888 (possibly called 888 Lite) or Motorola themselves will do the underclocking in-house with the existing SD 888 chipset.

I think the chip's performance will be between the Snapdragon 888 and 865 or between the 855 and 865. Would be powerful anyway because it's a 800 series chip

Could this possibly be an 888+ as the 888 has already been released on that Xiaomi problem of a phone?

Their edge and edge+ were great phones. This would be a banger if correctly done and marketed.
Motorola is slowly and gradually getting back in the game.

Same as 865 but with 5nm ? Or
Replace the x1 core in sd888 with a78 core?
Either way it will be below sd888 and slightly above sd865+
