I would buy if there was microsd slot for at least 1TB.
Otherwise will wait for Note 21 ultra ( if it shows up this year.
    If not will look elsewhere.

I like how Samsung took their own route in the design of the S21.

Was going to get two 512 Ultras until I found out they don't have SD card slots.
        Worthless.

Alex, 18 Jan 2021All the valid points about Samsung, Exynos, Chinese and USA... moreNote 10 lite is an OK choice as there is no longer good choice. It has sd855 internationally, good display,sd card, good battery. Camera sux and no headphone jack. The latter can be used with adapter though inconvenient if you want to charge. IMHO it is the only acceptable phone as its price dropped now too - 400 euro.
It was good at the time of first Galaxy series. You buy Galaxy S X and you know you have all the top tech at about 500-600 euro. Now they ask for 1000 euro and don't give you even a charger and headphones. And put low-quality crap hardware, and remove features - barometer, heart rate sensor, infrared and all the other stuff that past flagships had. They learn that shit from Apple, but android users are not Apple sheeps. Noone should buy flagships - that crap should not be sponsored. Flagships demonstrated prosperity in the past now they will demonstrate stupidity if you pay that money for such crap. :)

While my biggest pain is a lack of good midrangers - they are all coming out lacking/defective one way or the other.

Samsung have finally come around to it. The GPU isn't as good but there is no Android apps you would actually use that would push graphics anyway. Plus maxing out graphics options severely affects battery anyway.

J, 18 Jan 2021There are no flagship phones in 2020-2021 only expensive lo... moreP.S. On top of that SD888 has poor energy efficiency, overheats and throttles and is no go. At least the exynos 2100 seems to be better, but we have to see more unbiased reviews- not the sponsored YouTube "techguys" hype crap.

There are no flagship phones in 2020-2021 only expensive low-quality crap. Removed this, removed that, raised the prices...why don't you then go fyslf vendors? Especially Samsung.
All latest phones are complete crap.
S20 FE - poor Exynos, poor camera, defective touch screen, poor endurance, poor display and colors, overheating, high price. Where the F is the FAN part? All the s20 models are low-quality crap.
I waited for s21 now what - you remove the SD card on a 8k recorder. Did someone blow the CEO brain? What is wrong with Samsung? They are lucky that USA bans Chinese companies. Not that their crap is better, but at least it is a bit cheaper. Though xiaomi has no SD card in MI series too- they are not a name yet and already do the Samsung crap.
The only acceptable phone in 2020-2021 is NOTE 10 LITE. Unfortunately it has a crappy camera.

                  Disappointing....

I'm probably not getting any of these, due to one basic issue: no availability of the Snapdragon model in my market.

I'm less worried about overall performance, and more on image processing, battery, as well as phone longevity.

Also, in this day and age it makes no sense that a global brand like Samsung would choose to sell the "same" product (with different specs, components and performance) in different parts of the world.

daniel777, 18 Jan 2021Samsung should discontinue the "+" model. Those... moreI absolutely agree. The s21 plus is just a bigger version of the standard s21 with glass back and that device has a display of 6.7 inch which is just a tad bit smaller than the 6.8 inch s21 ultra. If you want a big and absolute best and most spec out phone the s21 ultra is there and if you want a compact affordable flagship get the standard variant. I feel like the plus variant is just there for the sake of closing up the price gap and doesn't offer any upgrade over the standard variant.

I made it a point to only buy phones that has both an expandable storage (SD card slot) option and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Real jackass move by all the phone companies. I guess I will be sticking with my Mate 20 X a little longer.

Samsung should discontinue the "+" model.
Those who prefer small screen flagship go for the S21. Those who prefer large screen go for the S21 Ultra. With the S21+, you are already getting large size, you are paying a premium price, but spec-wise S21 Ultra is much more ahead of the S21+ (camera, screen, s pen).

The S21 Ultra seems like a great phone. The Snapdragon 888 is the first processor which can use the potential of the new Staggered Sensors, which have the equivalent of the Dual Gain (ISO) like on the Arri Alexa, and recent Canon Cinema Cameras.

                                From Anandtech:
"Qualcomm claims that the new ISP in the Snapdragon 888 is the first to support new next-generation staggered HDR sensors.
These are sensors that can have multiple rolling shutters, meaning sensor line readouts, active at the same time on the sensor. Instead of taking multiple exposures one at a time sequentially by scanning out the sensor matrix from start to finish, the sensor will start another exposure immediately after the completed line read-out, reducing the time in-between exposures greatly. This should allow for significant less motion ghosting between the exposures and a sharper resulting recombined HDR image capture than current generation sensors which only have a single active line readout on the sensor."

And the ISOCELL HM3 is a staggered sensor, whose whose literature reads, "WDR Smart-ISO Pro (iDCG), Staggered HDR".

Which means, we should see a NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT in Dynamic Range as well as Exposure Latitude (especially for the 12-bit HDR photos on the 108MP sensor). Hopefully the detail algorithms and lens quality has been improved too. So this sensor is going to produce some seriously superb photos.

i have the OG S20, so S21 is not for me 😅 the S20 is actually already great smartphone except for the exynos, but i think i can wait two generation improvement, for now it's already plenty even isn't as fast as the sd865 counterpart
