This statement is already removed from their whatsapp website under privacy policy section.

lol india... you are over 1 billion people why use whatsapp? follow like china.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2021Still waiting similar respond from EU Most of the changes don't effect EU citizens because believe it or not the EU has one of the best privacy laws globally with Germany being the strictest if I'm not mistaking. I mean there is no street view because Google shouldn't even have the data about the buildings people live in.

Everyone should attack the face of the book until it stops trying to be the skynet!

Let me tell you people, I'm an Indian, and this move could be a sham to hide something far worse.
Look at Economic times news, they're saying that Whatsapp will be used as an e commerce platform for Reliance Jio Retail industry...

Do you know what this means? It means every (online and offline) retailer across the nation is under threat from an unfair kind of leverage...?
And relince jio's Telecom's 4G towers are located on just about anything- roadsides, public parks, road dividers, etc, etc. with government permission.

Its better to get rid of whatsapp as soon as you can. I know what I'm talking about.
They've illegally spied and sent me friend suggestions based on people I talked with on whatsapp, even when I opted out of data collection in 2016.

Indian Govt. is strict they can ban Whatsapp. Till now they banned popular Apps and games likr PUBG,TikTok etc.

WhatsApp will be dead in a month. Almost all my WhatsApp groups have moved to Signal out of principle - the new T&Cs don't apply in EU, but still I think pretty much everyone is fed up with FaceBook taking over the internet.

Some of those groups have people with little tech knowledge, and even they know WhatsApp is a dumpster fire.

I really worried that WhatsApp is delaying the implementation of the new privacy requirements so they have time to collect user data which will inevitably leave them when the update is implemented.

Even if they revert back new privacy policy, I'll not trust whatsapp anymore... As they are now moving in the shoes of Facebook, their parent company. Your privacy is in our DNA is not true anymore..

Just one example that makes the whole page useless, it is written in that page that whatsapp cannot see the shared location, while in the privacy policy it is specifically written that they collect and use your precise location.

Using your words, go read the policy before talking nonsense.
