This article is fake news. My Note10+ has had this QR-code-wifi-share feature since I bought it in 2019 with Android 10! You don't need Android 12 for this.

Why would anyone want to share password manually? I have NFC tag on my door, anyone that would be in, can just tap and it logs them in...
Well, apart Apple users, their device can't read it :D

Can't you just send it over a messenger? Why do we need "next android version" for that? It doesn't seem to require re-writing a lot of android code and could be added as a small feature to existing versions.

MIUI has had this since their devices have been on Android 6. MIUI version 8 or so. And it can be shared with any device. Just click on 'tap to share password'. Convenience apart, it's also secure. You can share wifi with your guests without actually having to spell out the password to them.
The reason I am done with the much loved stock Android.
