ITK28, 03 Sep 2012I don't like Apple, and I certainly do not like Samsung. ... moreerm.. wrong. only reason why apple is coming after samsung is the brand name and money. have you seen the latest share price for samsung electronics? Apple wants to corner the market and squeeze any chance of competition. they dont really care if the phones are similar design. HTC, LG, Huawei and Sony infringe on similar grounds as samsung (android, pinch to zoom, tablets that look like iPads) but samsung is the only company actually profiting in the market and can cough up the infringements

Then who's the one who's going by ethics???
And SAMSUNG was definitely not the first to make smartphone infact no one among both is.. but apple launched smartphone before samsung did!!

I don't like Apple, and I certainly do not like Samsung.
However, one thing is clear here. Samsung are massivly popular, and the reason they got in this position is that they provided a cheaper solution to apple products. They did this, not by coming up with a credible alternative, but by BLATENTLY copying Apples hardware design, and customising Android's UI to emmulate the look and feel of an Apple product.
Samsung have made billions of $'s, by infringing the copyrights that made Apple so successful. Therefore, in my opinion, they Samsung should have to pay them royalties.
At least I can respect the likes of Sony, and HTC for actually coming up with thier own ideas, beautiful design and a good user experience of thier own.

If Judge Lucy Koh final ruling Samsung is to pay rotten apple for US1 billion, I'll ask the rest of the world to follow me to boycott all apple products, excluding the rest of American as they are innocents.
Furthermore, I might setup a fund raising activity for the rest of the world people to raise the US$1 billion penalty. Exceeded fund will go to the rest of the world charity usage. Anyone with me?

This is so stupid. Apple has yet another law suit against Samsung because Samsung and Android platform phones are starting to get more popular then the Apple devices. Apple offers the same phone with tweeks since they launched the first iPhone. Samsung on the other hand has the same OS but you can get different hardware and that is where Apple loses. And now if they want to sue Samsung because the design of the phones than Apple has another thing coming...Samsung was the first device with touchscreen and one button not Apple

I fail to understand why the US Government and the EU are not doing something about Apple. Apple is displaying some of the worst Monopolistic behavior I have ever seen, far worse than Microsoft or IBM or Intel or the Many companies that have previously been substantially fined or even broken into much smaller companies to restore balance to their respective markets.
Apple despite Androids popularity, continues to dominate the market both in smartphones and tablets, and what really bites for me is that any similarity between apple and android products which there is granted, is clearly not hurting Apples Sales.
If Apple were struggling I would say have at them, but the fact that Apple makes significant profits on every single Unit it sells, makes 30% profit on almost everything everyone else sells as addons for the Apple products and is sitting on over $130 billion of cash makes me extremely Angry when I hear that Apple is systematically trying to destroy all the competition.
With that much money in hand I have to wonder when Apple is going to take the much simpler route and buy the foundation companies such as ARM, Google and competitors such as Samsung outright.
Will the Authorities allow Apple to destroy competition through legislation or try to stop them buying a controlling interest in the market and pricing competitors out of the market.
It is a fact that one such practice, the price fixing of ebooks is already being dealt with but the punishment does not fit the crime and it has not taught Apple a lesson that causes it to modify it's behavior.
It is time for Apple to be put in it's place and that includes making Apple charge fair prices for it's products relative to the profits made by other companies in the supply chain and the rest of the market. and if I were to bring a judgement down on Apple it would be required to forfit all it's cash in hand and cough up any profits made until it's business practices are permanently modified.
