25 January 2021
Component shortages have halted production, this could revive the two premium series the same way it helped Honor.

The US did every possible injustice to Huawei just to stop a Chinese oem from becoming no 1,since the American supergiant is incapable of innovating anything, and now get to hear such a sad rumour. Hope this never comes true.

I don't think it's right to choke a company like this just because it's Chinese. 😐

The demand is there but they simply don't have the phones to sell. Every single 5g model is out of stock

components are the problem, can't produce phone without them

I wonder what brand name they will use in case this becomes real.. The resurrection of Ascend series, maybe? Also, how are they planning to acquire all the R&D and human resources needed to develop new products and imaging technologies? A part of me wishes this will turn out to be true, other parts of me kinda not.

How sure are we that the group that bought honor isn't just a puppet company? Thay could do that as well for huawei phone business

This 'consortium' who also bought Hon... moreIt's not about the brand image, they are facing components shortage because the entire company including its subsidiaries are put into US entity list and other companies are prohibited from supplying components to Huawei. Cutting their successful divisions off while they still have a solid brand image isn't a bad idea per se, Sony did the same with VAIO and they are doing fine in Japan.

[deleted post]Agreed. People here just want cheap phones without caring that Huawei enables an extremely oppressive Chinese regime.

Go to China and type in “Xi” and “Pooh bear” in the same sentence.

How exactly will selling their premier smartphone product-lines to a State-backed consortium fix anything? If anything, it only cements the suspiciouns that Huawei is in kahoots with the CCP, them having to sell them to the consortium in the first place just shows that even other Chinese companies see their business as tainted.

[deleted post]Loled at your awful trolling attempt.

YUKI93, 25 Jan 2021I wonder what will happen to the existing Leica partnership... moreMost likely they would keep it because that's the biggest selling point of their flagships. It simply doesn't make sense for them to resolve the partnership.

I wonder what will happen to the existing Leica partnership if Huawei really do this for real.
