The sub-brand's Indian arm has started teasing the device.

RishiGuru, 28 Jan 2021Though I am not a firm believer in SoC bench-marking scores... moreA lot of things exist, rather thrive and grow... which are useless us.. Not only useless but harmful.. I can give Thousands of examples and antutu is sure one of them. For example, even the most bloated UI, unoptimized phone with latest SOC can have a really high antutu score. But even a iphone 7 from 2016 can beat it.. or oneplus 6 from 3 years ago can beat few flagship socs with unoptimized software. and both of these phones get way low numbers in antutu. so antutu is very deceiving. a lot of manufacturers even cheated their scores on antutu. go check google

Narsi, 27 Jan 2021Give a shot to vanced youtube. I will give it a try on my Honor 9X Pro.

Hello Life, 26 Jan 2021antutu scores means nothing regarding performance of a phon... moreThough I am not a firm believer in SoC bench-marking scores, I do feel Antutu does have some relevance in real world. Or else it would have not existed for this long.

          good phone

RishiGuru, 26 Jan 2021I admit this is somewhat true. I am a late mover to Xiaomi ... moreantutu scores means nothing regarding performance of a phone. A snapdragon 750 chips scores as much as 855 plus? is this a joke?

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2021From.being the 'Power for Money King' to the ... morePoco m3 = Redmi 9 power

[deleted post]For all the Google apps you mentioned, Huawei provides QuickApps app. Through this app you can view the web version of these Google apps. I use YouTube through QuickApps, and its works just fine. But yes their are still some shortcomings in web apps like I cannot stretch the Youtube video to fit the screen.

                I changed from:
                a) Google Gmail -> Microsoft Outlook
                b) Google Chrome -> Microsoft Edge
                c) Google Keep -> Microsoft OneNote
                d) Google Docs, Sheet, Slides -> Microsoft Office

The Edge browser (based on Google Chromium) particularly impressed me. I can safely say it has reached to the level of Chrome, maybe just 2% behind. Everything is as snappy as Chrome but with more added features like Collections tab which I love. In my Windows PC, I synced all my Chrome bookmarks & history to Edge in a second and voila, it is now available on the Edge browser of my PC as well as to Honor 9X Pro thanks to similar cloud based eco-system like Google. In my eyes Microsoft is the saving grace on non GMS Android phones.

Just wanted to convey I underestimated Honor 9X Pro as it came devoid of GMS and thought it will be unusable as I am a Google junkie. However after receiving the phone it took me just 3 days to figure out all the alternatives. It is true GMS is still better than HMS by a huge margin, but Amazon App Store & APKPure saves it and I get 90% of all my apps I need. I just miss YouTube app.

Huawei knew they are going to face a hurricane without Google support, so prepared a double edged sword (Honor 9X Pro) with a level of construction quality, display quality, SoC, performance, storage size unheard in its sub $200 price range. It is a pity that many (previously, me included) did not realize its potential, but those (now, me included) who used it knows how great the phone is. This is why 9X Pro is now my primary device.

poco F1, the only good phone they made

From.being the 'Power for Money King' to the 'Rebranding Emperor' its been a short journey for Poco.

                    Poco C3 = Redmi 9A. Poco M2 = Redmi 9 Prime. Poco M2 Pro = Redmi Note 9 Pro.

If you see 2020, Poco has launched the same rebranded phone after a few months of the Redmi launch. It feels like Xiaomi are using Poco as a dumping ground for unsold inventory of Redmi phones or parts.

I am very sure that in the near future (like Oneplus is being absorbed into parent Oppo) the Poco brand too will be absorbed back into either Redmi or Xiaomi after enough junk phones have been dumped onto customers.

RishiGuru, 26 Jan 2021I admit this is somewhat true. I am a late mover to Xiaomi ... moreHuawei is dead...
It's work company can't unlock bootloader and install custom ROM.
In my p30 lite even basic function message sending not work..every time 330 error..
Can't change smsc due to Huawei shitty restrictions in EMUI 10.

[deleted post]I admit this is somewhat true. I am a late mover to Xiaomi devices, but for the last four months using the Poco M2 Pro/ Redmi Note 9 Pro.

My M2 Pro is a great phone for its price, comes pre-installed with Google Mobile Services (GMS), latest Android 10 and what not. But the parts quality & software quality is not so good, so you get many problems in basic core functions like network coverage issue, call quality, receiver is not loud during calls, the person on the other side cannot hear you, headphone jack issues with crackling sound. The software being very mature and polished is not always well optimized thus amplifying the hardware issues further.

I recently switched to a Honor 9X Pro (6/256GB, Global variant) as they were selling very cheap during stock clearance in my country. After the US trade ban, Huawei/ Honor is unable to add GMS and subsequently Google Playstore in their software. Hence 9X Pro is devoid of GMS is solely reliant on Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). I was very skeptical before & during the purchase of 9X Pro how I will be able to use this device as it lacks GMS.

Now I can safely say I can live with it. Inbuilt Huawei AppGallery and authentic Amazon AppStore fulfills 70% of my app needs in this phone. For the rest 30% I get it from ApkPure app store. In this phone I have completely switched to Microsoft Cloud based eco-system. I trust it. Believe me when I say Microsoft eco system is damn good on Android. Just never used it before as I was so accustomed to the Google ecosystem on Android. In my eyes Microsoft is the saving grace on non GMS Android phones.

Other than the software situation, 9X Pro just obliterates my M2 Pro in hardware section, performance & product quality. The M2 Pro (6/128 GB) retails for ₹16K in my country while 9X Pro (6/256 GB) comes for ₹14K. You also get 10% card discounts over it, time to time.

So on 9X Pro I do not get GMS, but the software is rock stable. Everything works as planned. The overall experience of using Huawei's EMUI on Android 9 is superior to Xiaomi's MIUI running on Android 10. Strange but true. EMUI have a level of finesse & immediacy in software which I have not found in any other Chinese brands.

HiSilicon Kirin 810 SoC in 9X Pro is on another level to Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G found in my M2 Pro. Using both phones side my side you will feel the difference in the fluidity of the UI, be it CPU oriented tasks or pure gaming. Gaming is awesome on 9X Pro, just look at the scores.

                        AnTuTu (v8) Scores by GSMArena:

                        Honor 9X Pro (Kirin 810): 312668
                        Realme 7 (Mediatek G95): 292828
                        Poco X3 (Snapdragon 732G): 283750
                        Redmi Note 9 Pro/ Poco M2 Pro (Snapdragon 720G): 279625
                        Samsung Galaxy M51 (Snapdragon 730G): 266620
                        Poco M3 (Snapdragon 662): 177904

In the end the table has turned otherwise, 9X Pro is now my primary because it is rock stable, and the built quality & performance is the best of the mid-range bunch.

Xiaomi India has in the past one year screwed the Poco brand and screwed the Redmi brand by launching multiple irrelevant branded phones.

Poco as a brand with its F1 had a unique position and proposition in smartphones of providing a leading edge blazing fast processor at eye watering prices. And they should have kept that brand image intact by launching one phone a year with the best processor available at the best possible price.

To achieve market share and compete with others they had the Xiaomi and Redmi portfolio.

But some smart-ass in Poco thought let's get into the fame of launching 10-20 phones a year and if in the process of doing so if we have to launch rebranded Redmi phones so be it. So over the past 1 year we have seen all these meaningless Xs and Ms.

I don't think this brand has a future and like Oneplus (which has lost its identity and is being assimilated into Oppo) this brand too will be absorbed into Redmi or Xiaomi or dissolved alltogether sooner than later.

We already have Redmi 9 Power which is really similar to Poco M3 but with an Ultra Wide angle Lens. Not really seeing the necessity of this device in India. It's just going to create more confusion.
