what's up with you people saying whatever you like about you know nothing about.
right now i'm using both N95 and P1 top of OS and UIQ so let me tell you that UIQ is great at lease it wont restart as soon as you open 4 or more applications.
when i work with os i prey it wont restart in the middle or work like i search the net and finally i found what i want but the stupid OS feels there is a lot of pressure on it so it restarts it self and what i found is gone or how many times you want to open a video even the one you recorded it with your phone it says (not enugh memory)
when i promise you it never happend to me with UIQ.
i don't say OS is not good or something but it needs some work and misses some element features like you can't download zip or rar or anything the system dose not recognize it.(big problem)
UIQ has problems too most of it is about what you can't do with messages. but still it is touch screen man, anything on this screen you can use it simply by touching it.
by the way these smart phones are not just for calling and it means battery life so you compare both and pick.
i hope OS make a touch device and see how will be. so far i can't wait to get my hands on a new UIQ phone.

if you have seen amazing touch-sensetive technology of iPhone, then i think one of the feature from list is just a block away.

Dose not look great at all... it looks too bulky and what little features are there are old... nothing earth shaking... I hope there is more or this phone too will flop like the P1

Of course the features of this phone are pretty standard but UIQ is UIQ. Whatever general feature this phone may possess, the new and different OS contributes much to the charm of the phone. I am a nokia user but let's be objective. n96 is essentially the N95+16GBmemory+DVBH TV+Stand. If you looked at the design, it's the sleekest and sexiest phone SE has designed and goes beyond the usual blocky design.

10 features i want to see in nxt-gen phones is they must add...
1. jog dial for volume & camera zooming
2. usb memory slot & multi card reader (for more storage)
3. hi-speed file transfer system then bluetooth (via phone to phone, as now file size getting bigger (HD-videos)
4. some application to-do some pc task (video/audio converter, backup to usb thumb drive or other card(for that must have two card slots)
5. camera optical zoom to 8x,digital default off with have at least 40x (n70 has 20x) & LED or Photo flash with additional flash that can be use as torchlight or with color effects
6. display like LCD/OLED with TV features like (dynamic color range, ratio both 4:3 & 16:9 for best view quality
7. Flash everywhere (it's cool)
8. a ring vibrator, (my concept, when you put phone on silent & phone is away from you, to know you have call, you are wearing a ring in hand that vibrates when you receive a call)
9. some living life on phone like (lava lamp type walkman logo)
10. control on everything (app shut/turn on as on schedule or on timeout)(can make/receive a call even while data transferring)etc.. there are more but this list is looks like a insomniac dream that may came true while I'm here to see

i think the size of the screen is 2.6" as u can see the size of the hand to the screen coz i have N95 8GB and its screen looks bigger in my opnion as i expected from SE it will have:
2.6" 265k VGA finger controled touch screen like the iPhone
the new version of symbian OS and the latest UIQ
5 MPix autofocus with LED flash
front VGA cam
WiFi b/g
built in GPS with A-GPS
streo speakers (maybe)????
internal memory of 160 MB and External mem slot
and i think under the slide there is a normal keypad
i was the biggest fan of the P series until the P990 broke my heart then i switched to nokia

the screen is definitely 2.8"
(based on several size comparisons between P990,N96 and some pixle messurements - in esato forums)
the question is if the screen is VGA or QVGA
i think that with the google maps pre-installed; then it needs the sharpness of a VGA screen for readble maps.

i think it looks great, who cares if it looks like another fone. all fones do the same thing make and receive calls they dont have to look pretty, this one to me (in my opinion) looks great. i personally hate the iphone as it doesnt have half the features i would like it to, its slow, and battery cant be removed and its huge. i like alot of different fones but SE always has the best file system and has 9/10 features that i actually use. this p5i hopefully will have everything i want and more but no one knows till the release date, so why keep guessing and arguing when none of us actually know!! nokia haters will hate it coz it will have lots of top features that will compare to n95 and n96. which i personally hate plasticy cheap nokias. so far my k850 has no plastic breaking where as my 6110 nav was fallin to pieces. neways lets just leave all the stupid comments till the fone is released
