The iPhone's rear shatters, the Galaxy's front ditto.

Drop Iphone 12 of a skyscraper completely demolished.

Im just here, 11 Mar 2021The S10+ Has a headphone jack S10+ is 2 years old and has a curved screen, which I dislike. Curved screen = easy to break, impossible to use a glass screen protector (I'm sick of "film" protector after 4 years) and hard to find a decent case for due to curved edges.

It also doesn't have high screen refresh rate and camera is limited to 12mp, is very similar camera to my own S7 (which what, 5 year old now?). I'd consider S10+ for $250-300 as a replacement for S7, but it costs $780 in my country, and it is unlikely to ever drop in price (sellers would rather see their inventory go up in flames than lower the price here, or so it seems).

Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G, $380, has flat screen with 120hz refresh rate, headphone jack, 64mp camera that takes slightly better pictures compared to my S7. It loses OIS and doesn't have AMOLED screen, but it is a decent package at half the price of S10+.

I'm hoping to see A52, A72 with high refresh rate AMOLED (rumored to be 120hz), with 64mp camera with OIS (rumored), headphone jack. I'm not sure if there's anything more to want from a mid-range device, other than a mid-range price (certainly lower than $780). And a decent processor, something faster than 720. My S7 was very fast back in the day but now even Google Maps stutter like mad.

Instead of playing with these money just give us who want but couldnt afford😥😥😥

Dear Samsung, I want my 3.5mm jack. I won't upgrade from SGS7 till I can have it, thanks.

Maybe I should just give Xiaomi another chance?

I actually wish we could have a phone as strong so we don't need a case itself... With Galaxy S21, I think we're going in the right direction with this one.
Although they've went wrong with microSD slot, 3.5mm jack and all.
For me, its LG as long as they can provide good stuff. G8x right now.

Not right, Apple have always used gorilla glass. Apple and Steve Jobs are actually the one who made gorilla glass famous.

[deleted post]I think apple does the weak glass back thing on purpose, they only recently started using gorilla glass right? It looks neat, but from all the devices being sold shattered def a weakness ios side. Android they get cracks too, but it's usually hairline on the screen unless they really hammer the phone.

I never rock any phone without a case, and have had them fall...iphone, samsung, top tier, cheap ones, and as long as the case protects the back and corners very good chance of no damage. These tests are for the no case people, but I just don't see the point when a case is like $9 to protect a $500-$1k+ device. I haven't even used a screen protector for years now, you just need a good case that raised enough in all the right spots.

I had the iphone 12 pro and it reminded me of a fisher price toy...$1,100 and it feels really cheap. I had to restart the phone for most phone calls when connected to wi fi. Changed out for s20 FE 5G, it makes calls just fine when phone is connected to wi fi. The s20 FE is so much more advanced than the iphone it's crazy. For the iphone 12 pro I used the usb c to lightning cable that came with the phone and bought the fast charge block straight from apple and charging is so sporadic on it. Samsung quick charge is so much better.

[deleted post]It matters, because it shows aspects of device no ad or review ever shows. How visible are scuffs on stainless steel sides? Are they painted or just solid polished material? Will earphone piece grille fall out easily or with lots of poking? Is it glass or not? What's under faux leather? How do textured surfaces behave when scratched? Jerry's torture test is entirely pointless if you are unable to peel out useful information for your use cases.

It’s a large size tablet so this is expected. Besides no one has durability tested a Galaxy Tab S6/S7. There’s just insufficient evidence that the iPad has poor build quality.
