Anonymous, 02 Feb 2021Intel now have bad performance per watt. PC may not be much... more> thunderbolt4 is more readily available on AMD
Source? TB4 is fully owned by Intel and (so far) relies heavily on the Intel virtualization instructions. AMD does have similar types of instructions, but it is unclear if Intel wants to include them in their proprietary standard. Only the older and much less secure TB3 was contributed to USB4 as a license free (optional) feature.
Neither USB4 nor TB3 are readily available on any of the AMD laptops. Furthermore, AMD kindly "forgot" to support anything above USB3.2 in their 2021 CPUs/built-in chipsets, let alone the more evolved TB4. I say "forgot" because there are official statements made by AMD personnel stating that TB3/faster IO is not a priority in their mobile roadmap. The sad truth is that they are yet to break away from the budget market mindset, despite having a much more capable chip.
Furthermore, since you claim that "there is no reason to get Intel Xe", hardware decoding is crucial for good battery life -- especially now that many have to do videoconferencing from home. AMD massively drops the ball with their hybrid decoders that tax the CPU or simply fallback to full software decoding, unlike Intel Xe that features most of the commonly used codecs for nearly full hardware decode in the GPU.

Intel now have bad performance per watt. PC may not be much of an impact.
But for laptops and ultra portables. Performance per watt is important.
Intel hold the thunderbolt 4 for now, that give them a step ahead of AMD in the ultra-portable market. But this year, thunderbolt4 is more readily available on AMD.. there is no more excuse to use Intel.. even with the XE or Evo graphics.
Intel have to outsource their chip production asap. Their foundry cannot create smaller chip at good yields. They will go down soon.
Another group of competitors are also coming in, the ARM processors, qualcomm and so on. So i predict PC rigs will mostly be AMD down the road, and qualcomm will dominate the ultraportable market. They have to complete with Apple's A series chip and M chip.. which have extreme performance per watt.

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2021AMD's thing has always been benchmark, just to be push... moreWell, AMD is actually good and Intel bad, in performance that is. Both companies are equally bad but AMD has the better product. You are either a fanboy or own Intel stock...
I want Intel to come back for the sake of competition and better pricing for us consumers. That's not going to happen with 150W chips that require personal nuclear power plants.

No 3nm, Samsung is way behind for 3nm. We are looking at 5nm, or more likely, products at 8nm. This will put their GPUs exactly on the same node as Nvidia

I just put genshin impact up into max power, and it runs more smooth than in balanced, i could try power saver and see, would be cool if it runs even better then and i still can save battery😂

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2021I think this will be fine if aimed towards Desktop/PC/Lapto... moreBut mby they can pull it off because amd is very good at making it use less wattage but give more power, idk tho

I think this will be fine if aimed towards Desktop/PC/Laptop market rather than constrict itself with Mobile Phones with limited headroom from throttling due to overheating and danger from exploding batteries being near the SoC.

7nm and 5nm is where Samsung lost.

chester, 02 Feb 2021AMD Samsung this & that...but nothing to show for it j... moreYou are drunk with exynos hate...check out some performances...theres an error in optimised mode and power mode exynos is showing more performance in power saver mode...actual exynos pwrfoemance in s21 can be seen in power saver mode, and its better than s21 with sd888 in 3D benchmark ...might get fixed up in next update and generation wise ,theres huge improvement over exynos 990...and difference with sd 888 is unnoticeable with regular usage

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2021AMD's thing has always been benchmark, just to be push... moreWhat are you on about?
People already know the behavior of Zen 1, 2, 3 chips compared to Intel's 6th-10th gen processors. Heck, you can verify it yourself. Do NOT "cherry pick" your data. If you want a good source, I recommend HardwareUnboxed as they're non-biased and very thorough.
AMD was superior/competitive against Intel with Zen1/+ on a value perspective. With Zen2 they took the multithreaded performance crown. And with Zen3 they've taken the single-thread performance crown. The only things Intel has going for them is value (on certain chip+mobo combinations), certain functions (servers, algorithms, etc), and better support for OS (better stability on Windows, more driver support on Linux, and possiblity for Hackintosh).
There's fanboys on both sides of the camp. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're not.
Do your research and vote with your wallet.

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2021AMD is slaughtering intel in literally every benchmark thes... moreindeed amds first approach in 2000 and 3000s was more cores than Intel
Improved alot in other areas where they matching intel now still with more cores holding lead
Intel seem very cheap just pushing core speed up
the next i9 only going go have 8 cores . compare that with what you can buy with amd
