Dometalican, 02 Feb 2021I meant the tech.They might own a specific implementation of it, but the overall spec for 5G was designed by a consortium of companies, not just one.
e.g. If McDonalds and a bunch of other restaurants got together to define a burger, McDonalds still can produce its own formula that fits the spec. McDonalds owns the rights to their Big Mac, but that doesn't stop Burger King from producing a Whopper.

Wait...I thought Qualcomm owned the rights to mmWave...
Don't get me wrong, I'm STOKED this may give MediaTek that final push to get some phones sold here in the US. I'm just confused.
