Four Galaxy A phones from 2017 will no longer receive security updates

The new Galaxy A02 and M12 will get security updates once every three months.

I'm really gonna miss the A5 2017 and A7 2017 a lot. Samsung really made a properly great A series phone with those two. After the A8 2018 and A8+ 2018, I don't see any A series phone to have an IP68 rating and Samsung Pay with NFC+MST support.

    Updates for 4 years are pretty good.

          End of updates will not make me buy the new tablet-size crappy smartphones. I will use my good old a3 2017 until they make a 5inch mid-ranger, because it is much more practical and makes more sense as we call it "mobile device".

          I know many people in my situation that do not want 5.5+ inch

                    I love samsung mobile.. i start my young life with samsung ACE then i buy grand prime and use it years.. after my phone was stolen i buy grand prime plus.. now i am gona buy samsung galaxy a21s..
                    Thanku 4 the amazing specifications and setting.. and also thanku for makinh samsung user friendly..

                              Updating a android phone is a mess, which will slow down , degrade battery, introduce new glitches. My suggestion is don’t update android phones if it isn’t a flagship(or even it is).

                                THIS is one of the reasons I no longer buy Samsung for myself or family; because once they've made the sale, they don't care any longer about customers. Updates should last the life of the phone. OTA updates cost nothing or little and should be available FREE forever! A phone lives on beyond a year or two.

                                      CHINESE BRANDS FANS, 04 Feb 2021Why no one follow Apple's path in including 5 years of... moreapple launches 5 phones in 5 years (doesn't matter if it pro, mini, vanilla, plus, s, max...) they are all the same with slightly different hardware, unlike android companies they launch at least 10 phones (not counting the rebranded ones) for all price ranges and are completely different from one to another. and majority of people don't care at all about updates, maybe in your country a 2gb update will take couple of minutes to download but for us it takes about 6h (if others are connected to the same wifi).

                                        How much can they earn from apps for people who own the A series phone?

                                        The answer is not much. So to squeeze them, they either will have to buy another Samsung phone, or have their phone compromised so they can profit from it another way.
