Yuri84, 05 Feb 2021OneDrive may have an edge when it comes to file size, but n... moreYeah OneDrive is a disaster for photos. I tried Google Photos about a year ago after just using OneDrive to backup photos (manually sorting them into folders myself) and I'll never go back. Even though I pay for 365 and have a TB I'd rather pay extra for Google storage just to use Google Photos. There's no comparison, it's just in another league.

OneDrive may have an edge when it comes to file size, but not when it comes to viewing or sorting photos. Because viewing is a disaster in OneDrive (I tried it over the years and last time was a few days ago), it's just SLOW. For comparison, google photos is lightning-fast, it loads almost instantly and shows photos from years ago almost immediately (I don't have to wait 3-5 seconds for them to load). As for sorting - OneDrive doesn't support sorting albums by name, while Google Photos does - you can start the name of the album with year-month and they'll be sorted by date once you sort them by name.

As for 8k, I'd say sorting affects FAR more users than those with 8k cameras, 8k videos and 8k recording gear.

Who cares about 'motion photo'! It's a gimmick and has no use.
What's the use of 'motion photos' that can't be viewed by other apps / other people?
Take a photo or take a video, it's one or the other, not a mash of both!

                    You are wrong here,
I am using motion photo playback on google photos since S8, and now i have S10+ with latest update and it works like a charm

Onedrive has a drawback it does not support external storage backup. Only Internal storage backup is possible. Google photos better alternative here.
