Is this all (920 and 820 with some new technologies) what Nokia wants to show to the world during the biggest event of the company? Plus the fact that no release date and pricing has been revealed, I am wondering how Nokia will regain their market share.

it is not about the number of pixels but what you do with them! PureView is about blending optics, pixels and image processing in new and different ways to allow you to do things you otherwise cannot..It is NOT a single specific feature or specification..

We are with you Elop, thank you for been loyal.

Great to see the support and interest on here.
Few Jealous Android users, but that's ok.
They'll be using this OS soon enough

Be 500 comments here very soon. Probably hit 1000 by tomorrow. Shows tiles is what we all want now.

Not much interest in Motorola it seems.
      Sums it up.
Even Android fans are here comment instead saying it looks impressive the new Nokia flagship.

will lee wanta, 06 Sep 2012interesting move by NOKIA. Launching windows 8 phone. But ... more1. i think they try to make trade mark design. just like iphone, when you see rectangle shape with rounded corners, you think of iphone. when you see rectangle shape with curved display glass, you think of.. well.. NOKIA.
            2. you could always customize all of your livetile to medium & large tiles only, if you want.

No expandable memory and only an 8 MP camera are the main reasons I will NOT be buying this phone. Galaxy SIII is a better phone

interesting move by NOKIA. Launching windows 8 phone.
But i'm a bit disappointed by how the phone looks. Lumia 800 and 900 are great in design. But making their new flagship phone look alike the previous is not a wise move in my opinion.
I think they should make a different design.
Oh and i also do not really like the multi-size tile interface in windows8. I prefer the tiles in lumia 800 and 900. Much classier.

                    Good luck NOKIA

HOLY F*CK NOKIA WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
                      185 grams?
And it's not even an enormous phone like the galaxy note.
(even that is 178... Nokia you suck.. try harder..)

I just had a look at Nokias share price.

DOWN 16% in the last day
DOWN 30% in the last week
DOWN 94% in the last 5 years.

It seems investors aren't to impressed with the 920 or Nokia in general.

AnonD-26575, 05 Sep 2012I have always loved this design: the N9, Lumia 800 & 90... moreFirst of all it's actually 8.7 mp. It's not about the megapixel. Lumia 920 camera has the biggest sensor (1/3 inch) and smallest aperture (F/2.0) of all smartphones right now. "Think of aperture as how “open” a lens can get—the more open, the more light comes in. That’s crucial as light is what camera’s crave and is the key to getting a good image." "Sensor size is also crucial. Here, the bigger the better and the fact is, most smartphones have tiny sensors." "jamming more megapixels on a sensor can have negative consequences, like reduce image quality. The more pixels on a sensor, the more light you need to illuminate them all. In turn, cameras with high megapixel count tend to have worse low-light performance."

Android to me is like Windows Vista. It's slow and resources hog, but with lots of bugs. Windows Phone = Windows 8 as in speed, optimized for performance, and stable.

what makes something successfull is the publicity and hype . Thats the reason why Avatar was the highest grosser though it didnt get an oscar. That is reason why iphone is best seller though there are better mobiles in the market. May be even it is why galaxys3 sold 10 million even though it got mixed reviews. And as for lumia 920 , its creating lot of interest already . More tham 1lakh hits in 24 hrs and 430 comments in this post . I think purpose is being served for nokia . But this may go either way. Either it will be a big success or a big flop . Only realife hands on experience will decide its ultimate legacy . Fingers crossed .
