Nokia fakes Lumia 920 PureView video, issues an apology for it

06 September, 2012
Turns out the highly stabilized footage in the video was from a professional video camera, not the Lumia 920.

All I see in this is that a lie is a lie!Why would Nokia want to lie to consumers? Is this out of desperation? With this, they are no longer "connecting people"...they are now "lying to people" with d intent to "disconnect" them!

True there was a bit of advertising deceit involved in the video itself, the boy riding on a bike with the 820 in the beginning would suggest that the whole thing was filmed on a bicycle, but think about it; how can you film with two devices while steering a bike? (especially when you’re a paid actor and not a BMX rider). Even filming with a single phone in your hand, OIS or not is near impossible, it’s not as easy as you think to have the viewfinder in focus while doing something else- I struggle while filming reviews on my desk when I look away from the recorder for 5 seconds, try that while riding on a bike with a prototype phone in your hand.

video by lumia 920 is great but they shouldnt have told lies before.. it made some people fool out of it... but still video quality is not comparable to galaxy camera... galaxy camera's video quality beats lumia's video quality...

jigs_84, 06 Sep 2012I understand the error..but appreciate the clarification im... moreI don't see the error of a company lieing saying that there phone shot a scene which in fact did not. I guess they just forgot to tell the whole world which camera they used to film the scene. I understand mistakes happen of course.

Nokia didn't lie, they just didn't tell the truth. But it hurts the same being a nokia fan all this while. It's like waking up to a mouthwatering fried sausage smell but ends up being served only plain cereal...

Anyway video stabilization is a great innovation, look at the video sample, no other phone can get a true video like the Lumia 920. In my opinion is a great feature

If Nokia wanted to apologise, perhaps they can release a variation of the 920 with a hardware keyboard.

4.5" screen, QWERTY, PureView, WP8... oh man. That would be brilliant.
