I have my phone all the time and when I'm in the mood to jump why let anything get it the way. Shoot take a video too. I beat mine up took out it the ocean the first couple weeks I had it, it lasted over 2 years and I work construction, don't forget your phones a tool don't be a pus and actually use it

Build defect happen from any country, thinking otherwise is being totally biased.

iPhones aren't exempt of being damaged or killed by water despite the IP rating and there are many exemples of this online.

Lyndino, 11 Feb 2021I have had many phones as well and not only am I not stupid... moreMan but thats an accident or your fail because you felt from bike on a normal day a water resistance is nothing but useless obsolette gimmick and nothing else.
When companies include water damage to warranty i will say yes to IP resistance but as it is now i am saying no.

The S21 series will outlast the Mi 11 series in longevity. SD version (not sure about the exynos version).

AnonD-731363, 10 Feb 2021As long as the company warranty doesnt include water damage... moreI have had many phones as well and not only am I not stupid enough to jump into a pool with a phone in my pocket accidents do happen. Especially on my trip to Hawaii recently (pre covid). The wife and I were on a hike and I slipped and fell into a river. Due to me falling on some rocks I wasn't getting up as fast I would have when I was younger all while my IP68 rated phone was in my pocket. I would say that is a little more than a few rain drops.
Or how about being on a boat and while the phone is in a cupholder a rogue wave come's along and soaks everything. The phone is not as important as my kids safety so it is again under water longer than intended.
IP Rating's are quite justified for people who like it.
I'd rather pay for a water proofing over zooming in on the moon any day, or 8k video for that matter.

Been enjoying IP rated android phone since 2012. Took it twice at a waterpark and no water damages for 2 years of usage. Back then when you dont think twice before getting it wet :) This video is just one of those curiosity type and obviously the phone will survive longer than 30 minute but its internals wont lol.
