Review: Android 10 on the Nintendo Switch is just as messy and awesome as it sounds

You need a fairly old, exploitable unit to get it to work, but it opens up a world of possibilities.

It's crazy how people on here can tell me what a diode in a camera does but cnt understand that when you install lineage OS os an unpatched system, it doesnt touch the nand.

The galaxy s10 can run 3ds games at full speed, and that took forever. If I'm not mistaken it's still in beta. You can easily switch back to the switches os, it installs android on the sd card. Yes it seems underpowered because it is not optimized. This is a console we are talking about here, with the same SOC as the nvidia shield, but we haven't heard anything from the XDA forum since its last release of android for the switch.

Actually you can use it on newer console, but you must first install SX Core (for regular consoles) or SX Lite (for Switch lite) from Team Xecuter.

                      PS4 remote play work?

                        Android on the Switch?

I was kinda hoping for the opposite. :')

But by doing this will make your switch only run android games and cannot play switch games again. It just becomes underpowered android tablet. Definitely not useful. And waste your time and probably waste your switch. What we NEED is stable Switch Emulator working on android phones. Have an actual Phone with capability to play switch games that's it what i want.

Anonymous, 15 Feb 2021Will it be good to switch my Switch to android? It's a great and fun project, but definitely not something to daily-drive. If you want to do cloud or remote gaming on the Switch, then it has some utility on a daily basis.

Android aka google can just stay awake from the Nintendo switch. We don’t need android on the switch at all.

daredevil, 15 Feb 2021Yea sure buddy. 300$ graphics cards cant run dlss but a 25$... moreGet your facts straight. You only need tensor cores for dlss, its not expensive at all. Nvidia was hiring engineers for mobile dlss solution intended for handheld console. So smarten up first.

This article reminds me when I first got emulators on my jailbroken, first generation iPod touch back in 2008. I was so excited to have so many NES, SNES, and Genesis games. Then I had them again on my PSP a couple years later. But after trying so many ROMs, like 80% ran like crap. And some of the ones that ran decent, you still see weird bugs and background glitches.

The only games I enjoyed on that iPod touch was NBA Jam on SNES and Deal Or No Deal which was a GBA game. Many 2D platformers like Super Mario Bros. or Sonic were hard to control. My PSP 2000 model has emulators and I no urge to play them. Again, most of this geeky stuff is a novelty that wears off. Better off just using these devices on what they're intended to do. Android tablets were mostly crap anyway.

Anonymous, 15 Feb 2021Tegra X1 from 2015... this thing is useless in today's... more^ This.

I think this is pointless. It still has some shortcomings just like Remote Play on my Vita had on me.Tegra X1 from 2015 is old news. I also hate how the Switch still has drifting issues that Nintendo never really resolved.

The Switch Lite is still bulky and heavy. The ergonomics of Nintendo handhelds don't feel as comfy as the PSP and Vita. The D-pad on the bigger Switch is a joke. And the Lite has one analog stick above the D-pad but the other below the buttons.

Nintendo has relied on nostalgia and controller gimmicks since the N64. Then more controller gimmicks with the Wii and Wii U with the latter flopping in sales. The GameCube's controller was actually comfy like the SNES but the button layout was awful. Did love the Wavebird.

This is just a novelty. Running 2019 Android software on 2015 Nvidia hardware is going to make it an unpleasant experience. It's to show off that you have it. Just use your real Android device instead.
