Anonymous, 14 Feb 2021The problem with the Apple Watch is that it isn't much... moreClearly not enough people are bothered about what you said. As Apple seems to hoovering up the market when it comes to smart watches. Everyone may have the same shape on their wrist but there is still a lot of customisation you can do with it.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2021The problem with the Apple Watch is that it isn't much... moreI have a 3rd party stainless steel bracelet with butterfly clasp. It’s already different than most Apple watches as it is. Besides, I have a huge collection of proper mechanical watches from Steinhart, Seiko, Orient, Citizen or Sea-Gull. If I want to be unique or classy, I’ll just wear those as no one around me has one of those.

AnonD-804996, 12 Feb 2021Overpay what? Apple Watch is actually really good. Like, re... moreThe problem with the Apple Watch is that it isn't much of a watch, it's design is rather more like a fitness tracker. Moreover, I find it unacceptable that a visible accessory becomes so common, that makes people all look the same. Apple is so ridiculously popular that wearing an Apple Watch is a statement for so many. But if you halt for a moment and consider, how much of a statement is it, when ten people in the room wear the same watch with you?
All the features you mentioned, that you enjoy so much on your Apple Watch, have been available on other smartwatches, most of them like AOD screen, Wi-Fi integration etc. even a lot sooner than on the Apple Watch. You can have all this functionality that you mention on a stylish Skagen Falster for less than for an Apple Watch up to a super handsome and special TAG Heuer Connected. No need to have the same thing strapped on your wrist as ten other people in the same room with you.

TerryFeak, 12 Feb 2021I cannot wait to have my first Apple Watch, they are quite ... moreLook at Apple Watch 5. It's quite a lot cheaper than Apple Watch 6, but not really noteworthy worse. Only thing AW6 has as addition is brighter display and oxygen meter. AW5 has plenty bright display already and oxygen meter is on-demand scan only anyway and not very precise. I would discourage you looking at AW4 and older. Watch without always-on display is pretty rubbish experience. Not to mention it looks horrible on wrist.

One billion iPhones in active use is astounding. I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max(my first Apple product) and I'm not planning to upgrade until the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes out. I have the Apple Watch 6 and the Note 10 Plus. I'm pessimistically awaiting a Note 21 Ultra

As much as I hate how overpriced apple products are. If you have money then there is no wrong on buying things you want as long as you have the money.

Chip, 12 Feb 2021A mystery why so many people are willing to overpay. Not to... moreOverpay what? Apple Watch is actually really good. Like, really really good. I'm one of those who has a huge collection of classic watches, mostly mechanical ones and I always said "smart watches" were stupid because there is nothing smart about them. But after I bought iPhone I still wasn't convinced by the silly blank watch face until you twisted your wrist and it showed for few seconds. But when Apple Watch hit the market with always-on display (AOD), curiosity got me. So I got Apple Watch 5, bigger 44mm one. And boy I like it a lot. AOD feature was a game changer and watch now actually looks and functions like a watch of the old. With some other extra perks that I appreciate, like cover watch face with palm for call ringing silencing or not having to carry phone with me at home because it routes calls through WiFi to my watch for as long as both are within same WiFi network. Which is super nice feature, especially when you're expecting a call for a delivery or something and you just need to be 100% reachable. Sounds very 1st world problem, but it's super neat. And the fall detection and heart monitoring, although still not complete because of regional limitations, it's there. On top of that it's super smooth and apps integrate totally seamlessly. It's expensive if you flip it every year, but when version 6 was released, oxygen meter and brighter display didn't really convince me. So I'm still on version 5 and super happy with it.

Could I live without it? Absolutely. Is it useful and convenient now that I have it? Absolutely. All smart watches are technically overpriced by whatever they are worth as you don't need them as much as you do phone itself. But they can be nice when you get used to tiny little perks they offer.
