AnonD-804996, 13 Feb 2021You'd be surprised how people are either clueless or t... moreThat's because there are a LOT of uneducated people when it comes to privacy.
So many think privacy is just about not getting a picture of you when you are on the WC.
The truth is, those who say things like "you already post on social network" as an excuse are so wrong, they can't understand the difference between things someone willingly post online and data/information from your everyday life that do get collected that you wouldn't want to and who should clearly not be collected.

The risks of blackmail, identity thief, ransomware, or being targeted as part of a minority or a specific group are real and extremely serious threats, and those are in fact quite common, the stats about identity thief are scary, but people think it rarely happens or can't happen to them.
And there are much worse threats caused by lack of privacy, but people are either ignorant, or despite proofs refuse to understand it, and it is dangerous as privacy is literally the only thing that can keep our freedom safe and can help us prevent our government to turn into a dictatorship, something that most think "it can't happen to my country", which ironically is probably the most likely country where it can happen when you factor mass manipulation through medias and propaganda.
And despite literally the United Nations chief of privacy warning that even the increase in surveillance and tracking caused by the pandemic could help nations turning into dictatorship :
              https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/coronavirus-lockdown-surveillance-tracking-dictatorship-authoritarian-united-nations-privacy-a9438561.html
People will see it as "conspiracy theory" because it sounds impossible for them, and this type of shielding from reality is what prevent many people to acknowledge the real dangers of lack of privacy, despite countless actual examples of the consequences it has from things that did happen, like Huawei working with the Chinese government to identify Uighurs by face recognition, and no need to tell how bad are the intent behind this.
There is also a LOT of things we can thank whistleblowers for, and the lack of privacy make less likely someone will risk his carrier or life to warn people, and this directly affect everyone.

And Facebook being the worse known privacy offender, I am happy to see most, if not all comments here and on AA article clearly show that there are still many people knowing to not trust ZUCC.

No thanks, even for free I wouldn't want Mark's smartwatch. Even though I still use Facebook and Instagram I prefer to navigate the through browser and I have deleted all the apps related to the company as it's pretty much plain bloatware. Only messenger lite is installed on my phone, for basic communication as not all of my friends are on Signal.

Probably the only people to get one will be the reviewers who get them for free :)) and then they'll toss it in a drawer to never see the light of day again.
