I don't have plastic coffe table, but glass. Legs of table can be made of plastic or most of its parts.
I don't have plastic home windows, but glass. Your windows frame is made of plastic i am sure it is. Frame is not from glass.
I don't have plastic TV, but glass. Only a screen is made of glass frame the whole body of your TV is plastic even TVs which cost was 5k or above are made of the palstic same for motherboard and many else. Cables are palstic too ro at least coating. Same goes for remote controller.
I don't have or wear plastic sunglasses, but glass.Your frame or part of it is from plastic i dont need to see them to say i am correct.
I don't have plastic watch Breitling, but with sapphire glass. And finaly even your Breitling watch are made from quality materials but if you open them there is a bit of plastic inside. Even its tiny but it is there.

As owner of a phoneshop company with many stores across my country people deserve what they pay for.
If they buy apple for 1500 and refuses to pay 10 or 30 bucks for proper cover and screen protector because they dont need it and then they break their device within a week or less and comes for warranty claims and any of my salesmans send them home and call them clumsy is the only way to deal with people like thise i just described.
Even for a phone liek Xiaomi 9A for example which price is under 100 i personaly would buy and reccomend proper book case with a full face 5D screen protector just in case accident happens.
Thus to my honest opinion.

Premium phones have a glass back and even though glass is more brittle than plastic, users now feel a plastic back is a downgrade.
And btw, you and I are no one to say careless people deserve plastic backs. They get whatever they pay for, be it glass or plastic.

But rather will have a high batery and good quality leather book cover for example ones from alliexpress for 4-6 bucks than having a body of the phone made from glas stel or alluminium for 100-200 bucks and 4-5k mAh cell.
Durability can be covered by good case but carrying powerbank with you 24/7 is not that great idea.

Old Samsung S4 or S5 were plastic and nobody said anything. Apart the frame which was aluminium the rest of the device were plasting and still had 800 or more initial pricing.
Same goes for many else.
I agree the durability of the phone is important but for that case anyone can buy a leather book case from sites like alliexpress mine cost me 6 euros and for 2 years is as good as new. And thats just 6 euros compared to whole phone made from aluminium or glass or steel etc. a materials which would adds 50-250 bucks more. for something which a leather bookcase which protects all sides of the phone even the screen can do for just 4-6 or maybe 10 bucks.
And for people who dont like to cover their phone in book case or any case i can say only they are careless about their device and tus plastic phone for 80 up to 200 bucks is much more than the deserves to have.
End of story.
