they call it glance screen, even on their lumia lineup it is called glance screen...
so, no, it is not exclusive to oled, though it is optimized on oled display...

Really don't get all the salt and mud slinging. So the next Apple phone is getting a feature the iPhone hasn't had before? So android phones have had it for years? So what? If you want an iPhone, buy an iPhone. If you want an Android phone, buy an Android phone. You're free to choose. I use both, mostly cheap Android phones as they're easily replaced if I damage it while working and iPhone for my personal use as I appreciate their privacy and update policies, as well as how Apple works across multiple devices.
Apple could do with releasing a few phones in USD 300 - 400 bracket or below, but so far they choose not to, shame.
