If you want weird funky first attempts use ASUS or Xiaomi or some other company that dishes out phones on weekly basis and doesn't care if device full of firsts lasts or not. Whatever Apple releases once a year has to stick which is why they don't do this sort of weird stuff. One would expect that you understand this sort of things given how all the Anons here are such massive experts on everything.

A lot of it was just taking existing names, tech, and ideas while hopping on the smartphone bandwagon while using their name and marketing to lure people in to believing they revolutionized smart phones....when at the time even basic feature and flip phones had some advantages.
