I hope this phones comes to India under the redmi brand and not poco! I don't want that horrible new logo of poco on this phone! I am willing to buy this if it comes with higher refresh amoled panel. And please don't make it too thin like the mi 11. Make it a tad thicker to accomodate beefier heat sinks so that it doesn't throttle or heat up as much.

Aierlan, 19 Feb 2021Probably China only as the k series is usually limited to C... moreIndia had K series (K20's) with GMS in the past. Though India or International didn't get K30's, we cannot null out K series is only for China. Redmi can bring K40's to India and other specific EU/SEA markets..

if there should be a punch hole then it should be at the left/right corner, a centred punch hole is uglier

Nice. I can see updating from 9T Pro to this when it goes global. Probably in April as Poco F3 Pro or Mi11T Pro.

Being the vanilla base variant, I would expect to see either a macro or a depth camera for the third sensor.

For once, it's not a rebranded mi/poco phone? That can only mean it'll be rebranded as mi/poco phones in the future.

amirul, 19 Feb 2021Hope this phone not for China only✊ the spec of this phone ... moreProbably China only as the k series is usually limited to China. The rumours are a k40, k40pro and k40pro+ (with a better camera setup including a zoom camera). Last year they rebranded the middle one though (K30 pro) as the Poco F2 Pro for international markets so they'll probably do the same this year with the k40pro

I understand if K40 doesnt have telephoto, because its a cheaper flagship wannabe line.
If those main camera are at 64mp/108mp with pixel size more or close than 1.0 pixel size, u should be good up to 3x digital quality zoom.

Wonder if it will come pre-installed with Google services Framework. Models like the Redmi K30s, Redmi k30ultra, Redmi Note 9pro, Redmi x10 series, Mi 10 youth no longer have access to download gms. These models are China only models and therefore didn't come with Google services framework pre-installed probably to save costs. Thus they weren't fully Google certified and can no longer sideload Google officially. Models in China such as the mi10 and Mi11 are also sold internationally and come pre-installed with Google Services Framework and thus can still use Google Play and GMS. Hopefully the K40 series have been certified and come pre-installed with Google services framework but I doubt they will as the k series is usually not sold internationally but is often rebranded as Poco.
