At 7.5W max and in my case it's actually 5W on charger I use, the phone doesn't even get warm from it. If it has some fancy fast Qi charging however, that's another thing.

I use wireless charging all the time - it produces loads of best even at 15w.
I would not want to charge in an enclosed space and I bet Apple will say you can't either - that won't stop the less intelligent doing it anyway and this could turn in to a disaster.
Also, if it doesn't add any protection to the sides and display lip as well it's pointless - which makes the actual Magsafe bit pretty useless too.
In truth Magsafe is a gimmick, nobody need their wireless charging to actually attach to the thing they're charging.

I've seen iPhone users Forever clinging to the wall socket, now they'll be carrying a large battery pack long with their phones just to get through the entire day. All that thin and compact marketing goes down the drain.

Everyone whining over wireless charging yet it's used by millions and when it was introduced everyone was raving about it and everyone still complains about it when one device doesn't offer it. It is what it is and it's not going anywhere. Being magnetically aligned makes it as perfectly efficient as Qi possibly can be. Being a pack that attaches to back of the phone makes sense as you can use it seamlessly like it's a thicker phone and you don't need to also carry around any cables. Complaining over those benefits is just silly yet most do it coz throwing feces at Apple is hip around here. Besides, it's not like this will be the first Qi battery pack. It'll just be the first that aligns with magnets for better efficiency.
I'm just not sure how they plan on doing it because magnets alone are not strong enough to hold a battery pack there so it must be a snap on battery. Which means they'll need 3 different variants for 3 different phone sizes. Which seems unlikely and unpractical. Unless they'll put even stronger magnets in battery pack so it'll grab to those in phone better or something.

Wireless charging is inefficient in itself from a wall outlet & now they want it to be even more inefficient by hooking up a battery to it, wow.🤦🏻♂️

That's just a stupid idea.
Wireless charging = Overheat problem
And your phone gonna be consistently warm in that case.
Which will reduce the battery endurance much faster overtime.
But Apple probably fine with it.
After 6 months consumers will force to replace the battery in an official Apple repair centre.
Which equals to sweet juicy more money for Apple.😂
