Well, actually..... I think the buyers of this phone will be nokia fans, they want the reliability, usability, and **interchangeability** of this, for all thier present stuff on their current phone....

Any news about what the flasgship will be like?? or will it just the 'dumbed down' business version???

i dont know why all are talking about iphone killer, whats special in iphone, modernety maybe! where until know do u find a killer to N95 or why not N96? yee talk about that instead. N95 has been long time in the market and nothing can still be compared to it with all the features inside, and than came N96 with even a tv. i like all kind of phone trades, i like good phones, i had befor N73 and it was really practical, now i have tytn2 and i dont like it, and the touch screen is right unpractical and unecessary in a phone. One hand use, is what a phone should be made for, and Nokia is the king in that. I m talking fact and all of u know that.

            Nice but 1Q 2009!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
To late Nokia... Apple, Samsung, LG, Motorola are way ahead... even some Chinese brands (2SIM, TV on the phone, Linux OS,... and all that in the same size phone like this Nokia)...

at the end of the day its down to personal preferance
if you like nokias then buy a nokia
if you like se then buy se
if you like iphone then buy iphone

the thing that gets me is why cant you like all brands why do you have to worship one brand

i like nokia and have a nokia but im thinking of buying the 2nd gen iphone if its built for a global market and not just an american one but this doesnt mean i no longer like nokia

Its cool that Nokia is finally announcing a touch handset. I really dig the whole touch interface. I hope Nokia can make an OS as snappy as Apple's OSX. I have an iPhone and its splendid. Knowing Nokia I'm sure they're going to pack this thing with features. Only negatives I have with Nokia phones is OS, design, and battery life. This is from my experience with the N95, its great and all but I wasn't too impressed with the design, the Symbian OS seemed like it was running in slow-mo, and the battery life was pretty bad as well, but I charged my phone every night though so it was no big deal, but man my phone would die on my about 5hrs into work(to those saying that nokia is the "king of battery life", I hope your joking.

They also have to do something with pricing. I'm sure this thing is gonna cost double what iPhone is going to cost. However I'll still pick one up. It won't keep me from my iPhone but it will make a great second phone. Nokia is in fact king of engineering and that won't change with the Tube I'm sure.

this phone must be the long awaited follow up to the beloved 7710.
Seeems the fellows over at nokia actually do read the reviews on these forums actuallly, though ofcourse their reaction time reminds me of a sloth.
But looks like its going to be good competetion for tyhe sonyericsson xperia which I had planned to but now this has got me re thinking that.
However first release the phone you guys at nokia ......and soon!!

one ofthe main causes for iphone succes is the exceptionally low price it demanded for a very good set offeatures it provided,,yes the phone was a let down on many aspects but it proided a very good alternative for those who wanted a multimedia phone -for example- with a good screen,, we all now that nokia would provide a more complete device in terms of processor speed, camera, gps, easy menu, but we now unfortianetly that nokia wouldnot ask for less than 1000$ in return -as if u comparethe specifications to that of e90 and n95- , so this phone will have a good market but i don´t think it would make seling like the much simpler iphone,,,

It's a good thing that nokia announced this phone.. then other companies will try to improve their phones. And there is still alot of time before the tube is released.

I'm so excited for this phone to be released. Especially the next one that comes out after this. Touch phones seem to be fun, but requires a lot of screen cleaning to keep it looking good. I still kinda prefer the conventional celphones. I have the N95 and I'm quite happy and very satisfied with its features and performance. Only if it came with a qwwerty keyboard, I wouldn't bother with other phones at all, even this one =)

I have myself been using Nokia for quite sumtyme.. But v all must agree to the fact that Nokia, or for that matter all the Cntemporary companies have succumbed to the competitve pressure by IPhone!

Don't forget IPhone is just the first model by Apple and Steve Jobs made a breakthrough Innovation, making all other companies have a run for their money.

Nokis wasn't the first one to take the initiative.. It played the 'Wait and Watch' Game for almost a year. It did backfire to an extent. How much business is lost we all know.

It would be an insult to call IPhone just another phone. Its a Revolution! This I say with all due respect to other companies! IPhone is still to stay here for a long long tyme!

                                Cheers,
                                Harsh.

I still think nokia just didnt get it perfect with this phone. Its funny watching the nokia tree huggers in this posting. Get a life, try many brands. You would think the nokia fairy would come and hug you for bashing other brands. There is no nokia fairy sorry to break it to you. People grow up there are several great phones other then nokia. Its so stupid to get hung up on one brand. I've had so many other brands, each has a good and bad side. Live a little.
