24 February 2021
Two roll motors power the action with proprietary developments like the Warp Track and 2-in-1 plate supporting the display and keeping it flat.

AnonD-804996, 25 Feb 2021This is the part about iOS that I keep telling to you peopl... moreThe point is that you're not in the target audience. It doesn't matter if you can afford a 512 GB iPhone 12 Pro Max. It's the fact the you consciously chose to stick with a cheaper model. Some rich people are frugal, and practically their purchasing power is low even though they are rich. If an iPhone XR is perfect for you, why would you be interested in a 2,000 or 2,500 USD rollable phone? People reacted badly to your comment because you came off as a concern troll.

AnonD-804996, 24 Feb 2021Titanium display? Erm, what?I'm assuming he meant aluminosilicate glass. Maybe titanium glass is a thing, but I've never heard of that before.

Imagine yourself, buying a car 5-6x more expensive than your current one and caring for it just as less as your current one, does that make sense-No, bcoz you'd be extra careful with it since you just spent a ton more money on it.

Their normal bar smartphones aren't doing so well, and they would need to sell a crap ton of their experimental, highly expensive, 1st Gen device to at least cover up the cost of actually selling and distributing their rollable phone, which they can't at the moment.

This is why Samsung always have their focus set on the normal S, A, and M series first, and then focus on their foldable line-ups, which are expected to expand this year with more diverse and affordable models, so we'll see what Samsung will come up with for the future.

I don't need to buy new phone just to have latest OS, like it's basically a standard with Android phones. Guess who offers that. Ding ding ding, Apple. It's why I'm still on iPhone XR. It's super fast and runs the same latest OS as brand new iPhone 12. Why would I replace it? Being rational doesn't make one poor. Your desperation to slander people with really low hanging insults like grasping at this "you're so poor lmao lololol" just makes you look like an absolute *bleep*. I could buy an iPhone 12 Pro Max with biggest capacity storage. It's just that I simply don't need to because XR serves me perfectly good. Is super fast, displays really nice image despie being "only" IPS LCD, has really good speakers, makes excellent photos for all that I need and battery still holds great. And will have major OS updates for next 2-3 years. Why on Earth would I replace it? You're funny.

Using 3 year old IPhone XR...?? Lol With 60hz low resolution Lcd screen, not to forget terrible single cameras, pathetic 15W charging, terrible battery life and 3rd grade OS which gets basic features 10 years late.
You are in no position to judge what a premium phone is. Pretending to be happy with a 3rd class device.

[deleted post]The display indentation from a mild fingernail press begs to differ. Just because they are using them it doesn't mean they are not all screwed up. It's not like I see tons of people carrying around shattered displays, shattered backs and all dented aluminium frames and here you're gonna be convincing me super soft squishy foldable displays are "not an issue"? Really? Or you're forced to babysit them like crazy and then feel double bad when it happens anyway and you don't even know how.

So it is still a plastic screen cut at level 2?

"Here is a short video that explains how the display expands from 6.7” to 7.4”."

The different between fully retracted, and fully rolled, isn't too much. This seems like an unfinished prototype, or a version 1.0, that needs much improvement, in version 2.0.

Hopefully this and LG start bringing their reliable smartphones quickly.
