I mostly agree with you, i just think that buying a smartphone is all about what you need, and less about what you (or others) say. You're happy with your iPhone, i'm happy with my Nokia 3720. Cause it fits my needs, like the iPhone fits yours. I am yet unable to understand how defending or taking sides with industrial giants who actually don't care at all about your opinions will help us in any way. No Apple, Nokia, Samsung or any other phone builder will ever care about your needs, but only care about those needs that you will PAY for!

I wanted something smaller and lighter, so i bought SE Ray. With 'just' 4 inch screen and 112g i might upgrade to iPhone 5, i say might, because it is very expensive. All in all very nice looking phone, im glad its 'only' 4 inches

I can't see any major improvements with this new iPhone either.
Trouble is even though I'm not an Apple lover here is the crunch [bit of the apple missing perhaps?!], I have a Galaxy Note and an iMac. Sort that out, fanboys of both camps!!

Issy, 13 Sep 2012Swiss Watch or German car not advanced around? lol, dude, t... moreThe whole point is that none of you like reading very much. Apple's take on smartphones is not "top-notch specs and feature bundles". They use a competitive hardware and develop a software that works as close as possible to 100% with that hardware. And even if the hardware is not the latest and greatest, it can still prove very efficient. And that's because of the implementation of the software. And, bare in mind, most phones out there on the market are not quad-core phablets, but normal smartphones. Comparing to that, iPhone 4 is still in the books. If you think about buying any brand-new smartphone, ask yourself just one question: "how does it help me?"; this way, you'll make your best pick. Aaaand no, i'm not using iPhone, nor Andorid.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2012exactly, quoted from gsma "On the negative side, the... more I agree that there are some areas that could have received greater improvements, but thats not the case here! If you innovate something like the smartphone, you only have a certain level of room to innovate when every other competitor is barking up your tree. Yet to downplay this as anything less than a sleek piece of inginuity is just simply to ignore what Apple does best, refine! Think of it like this, when pinned up against previous iPhones, the upgrade is substantial, as well as compliments the new design which well sorry but no one will be able to compete with. Without throwing numbers in the mix the phone is more than up to par, to compare it to any samsung, htc, Motorola, lg, or Nokia phone is to compare apples to oranges. For what is true in the past is true in the future, the specs do not need to be radically on par as the software takes care of the numerous android issues through proper adaptation. So for every droid quad core 1.4 ghz it is safe to say translates into almost double that in functionality for the iPhone! Take that processor and work it into an iPhone and it can rival am ivory bridge chip, but thats not the point now is it. To incorporate your initial argument, you want a gaming device get a Vita, want a big ass screen (note 2, s3) get a tablet! Want a working smartphone get an iPhone, dont try to make something into something its not! Its a smartphone and all fall scarcely behind their rivals in certain specific categories which is probably why its a class of device on its own. You wouldn't go to an AT&T or Verizon store looking for an Xbox, game boy, or MacBook so stop trying to compare. When it comes down to it iPhones work well w/o muttering up the experience, refine the main functionality of a smartphones capability, yet retaining a decent price tag and phone worthy of calling a smartphone. Not to mention resell value which apparently has fallen along the wayside, though its such a tried, tested, and proven part of business and a direct reflection on quality. But I don't know anything I simply helped pioneer smartphones for certain companies (not apple, htc, rim, Nokia, or lg cough you guess) and the game is up
, and the time for the respected innovators to continue w/ their endevours aimed at their competitors. Simply enough Google though a rival to apple has shown numerous times that stealing, copying, or duping a competitors product simply is unnecessary and only speaks for the entity guilty of such. Now there's only the silly retribution attempt via law suit over LTE left, which as I guessed would happen will only force stricter and far less profitable contracts from major U.S. wireless carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint) upon said companies for the attack on a major U.S. corporation w/ outstanding amounts of sales through these carriers. This is the type of backfire intellect I would expect, which is what also fuels the need to produce obserdly sized phones, and a rapid fire release on w/e can be slapped together to outdate a flagship phone released a month earlier! Last time I checked you only get ond upgrade every two years, sooooo good luck with that. Come time wheb you can upgrade if your phone even gets anywhere near the latest software, I will be on Ebay to buy it for $80.00 and use it as a fancy paperweight! Thats a great product let me tell you!

I'm a Sony fan, but always respected Sammy for being so active & up-to-date in many aspects. Nokia also impressed me with their latest Lumia 920. The Moto Razr HD is a reasonable competitor too. I was eagerly waiting to see what surprises Apple was preparing for us, despite that I had heavy doubts about it.

After this announcement, I lost any faith in Apple. It's just a big letdown. My 2-year-old Xperia Arc is nicer & sexier than this iPhone, & its single 1 GHz processor & 512 MB RAM don't lag in any task.

Unless they, for once in their history, sell it in a reasonable price, this should be a fail. Nevertheless, Apple money-wasting fans will most likely save this phone from being a huge fail. I just hope this is the beginning of the downfall of this greedy corp.

Crap, crappy and crapper. Far too over-priced, and essentially just a refresh of the 4S.
