Carbon 1 MK II is first phone in the world with a carbon fiber monocoque

01 March 2021
This makes the phone quite light (125g) and thin (6.3 mm). Each carbon fiber shell is hand-molded by experienced engineers.

Zero, 01 Mar 2021Why... why Helio P90 for 800 Euros? Then... if the phone... moreClearly this phone is not about gaming performance or the best camera, there's plenty of other candidates for that. What this is about is light weight, thinness and style. People will either like the uniqueness of having a carbon fibre phone or not. Some people will pay a premium price for that.

It's not trying to be the best at everything.

Pretty sure carbon fiber cracks or shatter upon impact yes?
Its a highly rigid material that doesn't have give or flex.
Apple would love this thing, one drop and you have to replace the entire external shell

no doubt its the new Cheap carbon fiber, not the real original stranded type. this is just pieces of carbon fibers (chopped up) and mixed with plastic. there is a very big difference in cost, and strength between the two.

Sad that the internals don't have a headphone jack and an outdated Helio. It would've been better and cost $1000 if it had a SD888 or $900 using the latest Dimensity or that flagship Unisoc chip.

No thanks. Carbon fiber is the worst for recycling. Aluminium, steel, magnesium or even wood would be a better option.

Cvaiar brand was making Carbon Fibre and other simmilar materials phones long time before this one or anyone else.
But far more pricey than 800.

[deleted post]I still have and use it. Super sexy 8gb Ram i7 11inch version, paid £1300 new.

Promising 2 years updates but will get one major android update as it coming out with 10 and not with 11 so you end up with android 12 and not 12 where it should end for 2 years updates. As it's new phone but coming out with old version software while it should be the latest as with the 11

Thin 6.3mm Why not make it 7.3 or even 8.3 and lose this dumb camera bump. The extra space can have better cooling and larger battery too. Phones already are so big that going more thin makes it as a problem for bending more easy

Bigmeme, 01 Mar 2021Helio P90 was used in 150$ phones in 2018 igDo ur research bro! P90 only used with Oppo and rugged phones. P70 is what you think.

The statement how carbon fibre blocks microwaves is exaggerated, it depends on carbon and epoxy used. I worked with it and even used better mixes (better composition epoxy and kelvar). It doesn't need experienced engineer to work with it even when it's free structure and not mold but it is time consuming. I am for the usage of carbon fibre graphite mixtures that are also thermal resistant and can be used for cooling (TPU - graphite). Hopefully one day we will have and central frames 3D printed from Nickel and Titanium (NiTi). This would; reduce shell wight 50~70% compared to aluminium - glass, increase thermal conductivity, rigidity and grip. Truth is nothing blocks microwaves or any motion more than hard crystal structures like glass that are also very dense and hard (heavy and bricks easy) yet today all premium phones are glass sandwiches also slippery as hell.

If the price scares most of their potential buyers then we'll either see one or two Chinese phones license the approach they're using to make this carbon fiber phone or the company will go bankrupt and this will be sold at

Def need one of these when I go skiing or running. My 220grams 9mm thick phone doesn't help a lot there.

Helio P90 = "prestige" to some here rofl. Tell me do you even know what engine that's running in your Ferraris or do you still got some years left paying it off?

No one is disregarding the chassis advancement here, just saying that for the asking RRP they could have done a lot better is all.

Next time you buy your Ferrari, don't ask about options just pay up and drive yeah. Then when you park out front at your usual country club, don't cry if your Ferrari driving friends there give you that weird disgusted look because you're just plain bad at choosing.
