AnonD-70209, 13 Sep 2012I disagree with you entirely!
Android phones beat iOS phon... morethere is only one thing that you said that makes sense... and that is that Android is more powerful.
Curerntly, yes it is.. but apple is by FAR ahead of google. I dont care what anybody says, apple and microsoft are software GAINTS! and google's potential to think outside of mobile phones or tablets is microscopic. Apple and Microsoft are thinking WAY beyond what google is planning and google openly admits they want to stay in the mobile world.
in terms of quality of phones, apple's phone is about 500million times better looking, feeling than any android phone. Why? cause apple has always been elegant where as all other android OEM's just want to flood the market for fame. ie. samsung. rather than concentrating on a few phones a year and putting alot of thought into it, they just release 55 versions of the same phone ... and even those all look like apple's phones.
and in terms of customizations, dont call installing APPS on top of apps on top of apps as "customizing"... the most powerful os is the one that can do the MOST without having to install apps. and i've used every OS out there, and to-date, there has been NOTHING even close to Maemo/meego. android is doing now what nokia's n900 was doing 3.5 years ago.
open source just means more junk, lower quality of apps, etc. its like getting a high school out with you on a date, or a $2500 escort. one is ballin, and the other is just a cheap high school skankkk. (yes, android is the cheap free default high school skankkk).
btw... im neither an android fan, nor an apple fan. But i got a saamsung galaxy nexus, and that was by far the most GARBAGE phone i have ever USED! androoid has MILES to go to perfection in my eyes.
If you want a toy, you buy android.. if you want elegance, perfection, cleansliness and simplicity, you go with meego or iOS.
PERIOD.

Let's see what the sales will after three months compared to the 4s. After the clones, drones, and crazies buy the phone lets see how the sales fair because it seems apples creativeness is gone. For gods sakes at least a new phone design.

i'm a Samsung s3 user.. i was expecting something cool with this iphone so i will get it.. im dissapointed.. iphone 5 has nothing.. s3 will keep the top position for many months.. until they decide to release an iphone 6 or 7.. there is no doubt android is over the expectations and now waiting for the JB upgrade on november, we cannot hesite that samsung s3 is one of the greatest smarthphones ever build.. if you agree share your opinion

It will sell well but this time because of the wave that Apple is riding. As time passes that will vane as the levelled playing field becomes apparent.

sdrawkca is right.
Just wanting to add for people who hasn't undestood so far that Apple iPhones have always been about high-end hardware combo with no choices to users to buy something less powerfull, just with less storage.
If you read carefully @ what iphone owners are saying, IOS is more and more choppy on oldest supported iphones generations.

AnonD-18905, 13 Sep 2012of course iphone 5 will be sold in millions . But neverthle... moreI am android user and I will buy IP5 (now i have Desire HD) I hate how android run apps on backround (and they cant be ended they run again and again) and it slows your phone and drains battery.... Its not normal that freshly restarted OS uses more than 350MB RAM ( my friend has SG Note and it uses 500-600MB) its like Win7 on my desktop PC :D android sux. My reason to buy IP is not IP alone but IOS- better OS, better apps for it, and ultimate speed and user interface.

ALonZo, 13 Sep 2012I have an iPhone 4S and it really isnt worth upgrading for ... moreI disagree with you entirely!
Android phones beat iOS phones with 2 things, options and price. Where Apple is essentially closed-source with nearly zero customisation, Android is the exact opposite. Users can CHOOSE their regular, standard UI, or customise it to their own needs. They have a wider price range of phones to choose from also. Yes, Apple has more apps, but Android is very close behind, and almost any app that you can find on the App Store, you can find on Google's Play Store. So that's a rather weak benefit for iOS, and it will get weaker as time progresses. Many people say Android is buggy and requires high-end hardware to run smoothly, and this is somewhat true, but there are many custom ROMS that work beautifully on Android. Again, you as the user, have the power to choose. You have no options with Apple. All of the capabilities found in iOS, can be found in Android and even Windows Phone 8. Software capabilities is a closing gap that Apple clearly no longer has a great stronghold on, as they did a few years ago. With that in mind, a user can migrate to another phone platform and still get many of their familiar tools (maps, picture taking/editing, messaging, social networking, calender/schedule, etc), and they all aren't very different from each other. That being said, the only main points of argument are each phone's options and prices. Android, hands down, provides for a lot more user options and have a wider price range catering to many income levels. The iPhone5 CANNOT top the highest-end of Android phones when it comes to hardware. It simply cannot. It barely touches the Lumia 920 as far as hardware/internal components go, much less for Android flagship devices. Google ensures manufacturers follow their guidelines and specifications, and contrary to what many people think, Android phones typically aren't just made with "cheap plastic." Think about it, you have hardware specs that comes close to and sometimes tramples Apple's specs, yet iPhones are generally more expensive. That is not a pro my friend, it is a con...literally.
Any logical person can see that Android is indeed the more powerful OS, providing a lot more bang for your buck. We must be careful to let our biases do our thinking for us, and we must make decisions/arguments objectively.

Good luck to them but I doubt it will be 10 million sales, for the current 4S owner, there is nothing worth to upgrade at all 0.5 in bigger or longer should I say. light by few gram !! I wouldn't spend the money for that, save it and buy Galaxy S3 or Note2 instead.

I have an iPhone 4S and it really isnt worth upgrading for me unless I join a network that supports LTE. I won't lie, the iPhone 5 is very appealing and for me is without a doubt the best phone you can get. I have Android experience and have thoroughly used the Galaxy S3. Yes it's great and yes the screen is beautiful. But I wouldn't even swap it for my 4S let alone the 5. People keep arguing Android is more customisable but is that the only reason you should ditch an iPhone for an Android? No way! Apple has the much more simplified and polished OS, the same OS stretching back to the 3GS. Android has different OS's for different levels of phones, you don't need several home screens, and many won't be able to argue about Adobe Flash support with the latest Android! May I point out the Photon browser for iPhones plays great flash videos in case you really need this!
My points are the iPhone is the far superior phone IMO. More stable, more smoother, more polished, as Steve Jobs used to say, It Just Works!

george, 13 Sep 2012what's so goddamn special about Androids then? NOTHING. not... moreAndroid stretches from low to high end phones, from cheap to expensive, from small to large, and with different & customizable UIs. So I have a lot to choose when I am searching for a new phone. Unlike iOS, only 2 screen sizes, overpriced for no reason. There are many reasons to mention. But when you talk about OS updates, most manufaturers have bad or no OS updates. We will see how Sony and other brands will fare in the OS support.
Thanks.

I completely understand the closing paradise, but the reason why the 5 probably wont do too well is because people were expecting huge changes no 0.5 inches onto the screen
