This phone is pointless. Replaceable battery for what? Nowdays is so hard to find cellphones' batteries, better just get a powerbank, you can even get one smaller than the battery itself. You can get a nice rugged case and use it with a much better specs phone

Umm, 06 Mar 2021Would rather type my password till my last day than be hija... moreThat is a theoretical possibility indeed. Though I think if you have an adversary willing to go to such lengths to get at the phone data, then they might also film you typing in your password, target you with tailored trojans, or just take both the phone and you and force you to unlock it.
Phone security mostly serves to discourage simple opportunistic thieves.

Zakalwe, 05 Mar 2021Why not? Samsung has been pushing the XCover line for enter... moreTo keep the price down...REALLY? There are tens of other phones at this price point that are so much better than this. The only thing special about this is the fact that it's rugged (something that your phone can turn into by getting a case and screen protector) and the headphone jack. The rest is really just a slap in the face and not worth anything... Take last year's Xiaomi mi 9T pro. Which had a flagship chipset, really good cameras (flagship level if used with gcam), an 1080p OLED display and a headphone jack. The only thing this phone has over it is the water and dust resistance... But that alone doesn't in any way make up for all the cut corners

Zakalwe, 05 Mar 2021Why not? Samsung has been pushing the XCover line for enter... moreIt's simple - the new Xcover is too slow and weak for even basic tasks. I have a similar chipset in Galaxy Tab and it's really slow. All more demanding apps are impossible to use. Even loading a document in Word takes long time. For a business and work device at this price level that's something unacceptable, it slows the workflow down.

blue.sun, 05 Mar 2021Unfortunatelly, no organisation or company would buy such u... moreWhy not? Samsung has been pushing the XCover line for enterprise use since the XCover 4 at least. Koamtac has a partnership with them and makes barcode scanner accessories and charging docks for the phones. The XCover 4S reportedly sells well. I doubt Samsung would keep at it if no-one wanted these devices.
Personally and for private use, as someone who upgraded from the 4S to the XCover Pro I would not want to go back to a phone without a fingerprint reader. I guess some corners had to be cut to keep the price down, and if a company phone never leaves the warehouse/facility/whatever, then maybe it is alright to just disable the lock screen entirely. Or it's "if you workers typing PINs 200 times a day is cheaper than us buying better phones, then better get used to typing." ;-)

T the Tinkerer, 04 Mar 2021There you go, all you guys that keep screaming for a remova... moreThey've been doing it all along with the Xcover line but with leftover parts AND limiting them to WESTERN REGIONS. Import costs/taxes make them more expensive than their mainstream disposables. And that does not include accessories like extra battery.
