34SciencePigeon, 08 Mar 2021I think New Apple chip is not on par with Xeon series. So, ... moreSeriously then, do you expect a Xeon chip in a Macbook then? And besides it’s already clear that the M1 is like a mobile processor. The Xeon’s TDP is also a lot higher than the M1.

NOPE, 08 Mar 2021Can we hardcore game on this rig? That doesn’t even look like a gaming rig, but the GPU should be capable of playing modern games at high settings probably at 1080p. Windows still has a wider library of games.

I think New Apple chip is not on par with Xeon series. So, It is better not to have Xeon version, in order to compare it with less powerful available chips to Exaggerate the power of its own new chip.

monitor666, 07 Mar 2021A Mac without windows is not a Mac. Windows is the best. For gaming for music for web browsing for web design for movies for video calls for working...

I think for the exorbitant price offered the Xeon CPU is rather underpowered (compared to current i7/i9 versions). The Vega 56 GPU is also not too powerful, I think the Geforce RTX 2000 series (or the higher end Quadro RTX) are still even better. Let’s not forget those overpriced Mac wheels, ouch 😬
In the near future I would like to see a regular Mac with thinner bezels and the promised ARM chip. Also add the intel EVO (11th gen) variants with Nvidia/AMD GPU for those refusing the ARM variants.

The design. Is expensive and light weight. The problem is the iMac is too thermally restricted, not just it uses processing which is 10-100x times less performance per large unit of area. The PRO could be pumping out 1kw+ with many times the performance and reduce as many GPUs. It's really the iMac Mini PRO at the moment. It doesn't even have auto/stereo 3D or larger laydown touch mode that Apple patented, yet HP put out. Both of which are handy for various professional purposes, which the PRO should mean. There is enough performance possible to make a raytraced 3D workstation into it for advertising and cinema, but can even the normal Mac Pro do this. Let's not get onto real video production which would to well to have Ultra Bluray burner player. 8k, 12-16 bit panel with rec2100 HDR colour space? 4k nit brightness. 32+ inch versions.
The normal Mac Pro could have been the multiple stackable blade version, which could allow even a server farm of modules to be stacked together, or along the back of a desk (as had been suggested by somebody in a thread with Apple contacts).
The Mac looks fancy, but has been held back over the years by lack of fullness of features. The Mac mini is a classic example of this.
