Thank you Apple for doing this.
I use a Samsung phone but HATE the silicon tips so I use the Airpods 2nd gen and LOVE THEM!
I needed to upgrade but hate the Samsung buds pro/live/shit etc..
The airpods pro are ok, but hate that silicone feeling in ear, so I will just wait for these!!!!

The silicone causes itching in my ears, while I had no problem with normal ones. I think I have really sensitive ears skin :( wish I waited. Maybe I will sell the pros and get these. The fit is also not really good, one almost dropped yesterday, lucky I caught it. The old ones had a perfect fit.

As for earphones that have this feature but no ANC, the excuse is less.. just means its meant for users who want to block out the noise outside...

When i was looking for them, AirPods were basically the only ones so I went with that. And don't really regret it even at that price. They perform great, last for entire evening seasions of gaming or movie watching. Can't really complain. And I knew how they sounded based on EarPods. I have no clue how all these no-name brands sound like. Also it seems like these with AirPods shaped case don't even exist in Europe. Just these weird horizontal placed cases with thin lid which I don't like at all.

Or... I could get soundpeats true air 2 with a qualcomm 3040 and BT 5.2 for 25 bucks on sale on amazon. Or similar soundcores, or aukey or tronsmart or taotronics....

And they sound great (similar with Apple Air Pods). Also, as a plus they work with both Android and IOS. Yeah, you might say that they copy Apple with the design, but I don't care, I care about sound quality in the end, and like I said is really great.
Still, my best in-ear wireless headphones that I have ever used, remain the Sony XB400 (60eur). Best sound quality (for me) and best battery life (15h), for in-ear pair of headphones. And I used in the past expensive ones too (like the Sennheiser Momentum or Bose SoundSport).

Thank god Apple will let some of us have earbuds without silicone tips. Some of us don't want that crap inside our ear canals and these days we basically have almost no choice because everyone is going with silicone nonsense or nothing. Apple it is then. I just hope they'll continue to offer two lines of earbuds, regular AirPods without silicone tips and AirPods Pro with them. This way everyone can be happy. I hate vendors who only do one and it always seems to be the silicone one...

I'm using my AirPods 2 and I hate the beeping sound. It just does it randomly and I don't mean the low battery sound. I also don't liks when I'm watching a movie or TV episode, it interrupts me with that low battery sound. I have to stop and recharge it.
I'll use both but wired headphones are still more reliable. No need to charge it. Doesn't kill battery as fast as Bluetooth. No sounds to interrupt me. I guess old school is still the way to go.

IIRC Jon Prosser previously said the eartips is optional and you can use it with or without the eartips. Check your sources GSMA.
