Quote" Tiles are widget screens that can be accessed when you swipe to the right of the watch face screen "

Wrong, The TILES are on the right, you have to swipe left.

Kangal, 14 Mar 2021To be honest, AndroidOS is pretty much only good for phones... moreI couldn't agree more. Low powered devices than smartphones are indeed need more "lite" os and good integration to any existing, bigger os. Linux kernel used by Android is too heavy, that's why other platform is thriving for it. I didn't say Linux kernel can't be used to power these devices, Linux has been powered IoT, even fit to a 2.5" floppy disk once. I'm just saying, putting together a good ecosystem, need more just an Android.

To be honest, AndroidOS is pretty much only good for phones.
It's quite terrible on desktops, laptops and tablets, not to mention TVs and Watches. As much as I criticise Apple, their unified OS is much better suited on each platform (Watch, Pod, Phone, Tablet, Laptop, Desktop, TV). It's looking more and more like Google is run by incompetent management, and that their Phone OS was more a stroke of luck. Look at how many Messenger Services they started and discontinued, and contrast that with Apple's only attempt (iMessenger).

Google was "lucky" because MeeGo/Jolla was way too late to the market, whilst Windows10 Mobile and BBX were even run by even more incompetent management. I think the industry is too mature to have a strong third-place contender, not unless it comes with some unique attributes and strong support from developers, corporations, and marketing.

wearOS is unrefined and unoptimized compared to the likes of WatchOS and TizenOS

WearOS is an afterthought for Google and so are wearable SOCs for Qualcomm.
That's why thw combination is a failure.

hmm still not interested in Wear OS... uses far too much battery for my liking. my Gear S3 has been kind to me and I would want to replace it with another Tizen offering.

ThunderCrackR, 13 Mar 2021Let's really hope that Samsung is only trying to give ... moreI didn't really regret go for LG SmartTV and Galaxy Watch despite both devices are not Android.

With Windows and Samsung devices, you pretty much get whole ecosystem like Apple's.

Let's really hope that Samsung is only trying to give options and that they will not switch off Tizen development. It wouldn't be smart to leave your in-house platform for somebody's else, especially when the other one is badly optimized, lacks features and is generally less successful. And all this for some third party apps you may or may not need on your watch. The same I tought about Android TV just to realize that on a TV the only apps I actually use are the streaming ones which are pretty much present on most plarforms.
