Phone makers should also consider small screen sizes. Right now the option is only iPhone mini which is way too expensive. The above 6.2 inch screen size is definitely a strain on the wrist and inconvenient. Not everyone wants to use phones for movie watching

Micromax has lost its reputation in the market now. Winning it back will definitely be a tough battle. The chipsets being used are rather low quality and it NEEDS to upgrade if it wants to have a fair duo against giants like samsung and oppo

Quality control? Huh. There just way too many people complaining of ill-fitted body panels on Note 1, particularly. The 1b was comparatively better, in terms of build quality.
They've simply "traded" build quality for performance. And the quality is literally worse than the starting range of Nokia (just to remind you that Nokias in lower price range have very noticeable amount of "flex").

Micromax lost simply due to underpar specs and performance in the price categories it represents. But I still hope that they eventually get as good as Chinese phones at similar price range and when it happens I am sure India will open for it big time

I thought micromax in 1 will be better than in note 1. Just waiting for 6 GB ram phone to come in. They have done good work in case of quality and less complaints now. Let's all of us promote our phone, Though much parts are imported from China.

First of all, Micromax is using CKD (inport tax on individual component is way less in india) processes for assembling phones now instead of just rebranding. Rebranding could have made their phone expensive (India has 100% + import tax on complete devices) and making phones themselves is cheaper. They have a better control over quality standards (they own the manufacturing factories instead of outsourcing it to Foxconn or pegatron). They genuinely have an upper hand while selling phones in Indian market.

ethereal, 14 Mar 2021Does this lackluster even deserve a mention?!That's a bit elitist. Not everyone has 200 quid plus to spend on a phone. Specs wise, it's far from terrible and it's reasonably priced. Not everyone has an iphone or samsung galaxy S21. Different people have different means and budgets. Someone out there will buy this because it's all they can spend on a phone and be very happy with it and shouldn't be disrespected for doing so really.

Micromax should 'specialize' in 5.5", single camera fones, the lower cost will make them saleable in towns for 50s crowd.
