Thank you very much koolblack for an unbiaised honest neutral knowledgable opinion.Far too many people write anything at all just to support the phone theyare currently using with no concern to objectivity

yes. I am a gadget fan. I have used every platform except blackberry. And I love to try out new things. I have been using windows mobile for a long time. Cos i consider it the best os among all PDA after I used palm and symbian. But I do not limit myself to windows mobile only. I love apple product myself, even though I haven't owned a iPod or mac before. But I never stop thinking of buying a iPhone.
so 3 weeks ago I got my iPhone. :-)
Just after one week of using my iPhone, I advertise my iPhone online for sale. Just in half a day, 4 people rung me and force me to sell it, cos nobody was selling iPhone second hand. I really didn't like my iPhone, cos it is very limited in functions in many areas. I admit that. But I plan to give it to my girlfriend. So I took the ad off the website the next day, to avoid dozens of buyers harassing me again.
I went back to my htc touch again for 3 days. After that 3 days I started to try to dig more and more into my beautiful iPhone. As I used my iphone more and more, I started to appreciate my iPhone more and more.
I know and I confess, that windows mobile can do everything iPhone does, but in a cumbersome way, and with much more effort. iPhone can't do many things that windows mobile does. This is very true. This was why I wanted to sell iPhone just after 5 days use.
Now I don't wanna use my wm cos it is too awkward to do some basic tasks. The ui is not the most intuitive and easy to use, whereas iPhone ui is the easiest and most beautiful most amazing, if anybody has ever used a iPhone. iPhones ease of use is unparalelled. this is clearly shown in programs such as safari, weather, photo viewer, iPod, etc.
Now it comes to this point: will I keep my iPhone as my only PDA? Or my wm?
My answer is: I will keep both in my pocket, use iPhone for everything that iPhone can do, and if iPhone can't do, I resort to my trusted wm.
enjoy

As working in a tech support company i have to deal with these phones and the issues they come with, blue tooth is a bad sign with any phone that the battery doesn't come out of for the simple fact if the blue tooth is left on allot of the phones it freezes out and you need to reset this easy ways would be a battery reset cant do this on this phone at all so you would have to do a full on reset then clearing everything off it.
the phone is a good phone but yes there is allot of limitations, if you want to use it as a phone and a mp3 player then thats fine no different to the n95 8GB or to any other phone of that matter with a big memory card. Also there is limitations to sharing on the Iphone. you cant really send music over to friends very well unlike other phones because of itunes. this is a bad thing if this is what you wanted to do.

Wel it's only the 8gb iphone and not the 16gb.. The i-phone is a wicked piece of technology, but so expensive.. I like it and know people that have it and they wouldn't change it. The only thing if Apple decide to bring out another i-phone they should allow you to bluetooth pics from an old phone onto the i-phone.. Then it would be even better..

This is so cool well for all the chaps in the UK but what about the rest of the Iphone market especially here in Australia will the price tag drop here as well for both versions of the iphone the 8 - 16 gig. Cause so far when the iphone come out here in Australia it's going to cost like $780 - 8gig and $1,300 - 16gig, so whats going to happen then, cause i don't want to pay that much for the iphone and i really do want it.
please let me know.

yes those people are called dumba*s, its all about wants no needs i can't think of anyone who needs a N95 8GB or the 'multitouch' of the iphone which is the only worthy feature of the iphone.........who needs 5mp 8gb big screen?.....photographers? they use proper slrs, who?? the N95 8GB is what we want...i juts love being able to snap pics at school with my friends, keep my mp3s and images in one place on my N95 8GB????...if those people your talking about were smart and needed nokia 2760 if they were given the choise between N95 8GB and nokia 2760, if they picked nokia 2760 than they are probly the bigest dumba%s cause you could easily sell the 8GB and but 11 nokia 2760's.......get a life man

why do people think there could somehow be one handset that could be perfect for everyone, its not possible!
Different people have different needs. There are people who would choose a nokia 2760 over an n95 8gb!!

@donnie, as has been pointed out, I was quoting the price at CPW.
Saying you can use email is just a get out, you can email pictures on vitually any phone (is the iphone still restricted to one at a time?) as well as being able to use MMS. So you get choice, plus MMS has a more creative structure to it, you can send much more than some text with a picture attached.
Bluetooth is used a hell of a lot as far as I can see, I work at CPW, and it's probably the most asked for feature, and the main turnoff for people interested in the iPhone. It's such a common feature now people just expect it.
I don't specifically displike the iPhone, I just don't see the attraction when it seems so limited, especially for the price. It's very obviously tailored for the US market, the features and pricing show this, Apple should have done what other manufacturers do and at least make variants for different regions. Europe has totally different expectations to the US, the iPhone highlights this.

@donnie dont bother doing that mate come in to a carphone warwhouse and get the nokia N958GB free on a 30GPB 18mths contract, and all fairness except the multi-touch and the instant-message feature on the iphone the N95 run's rings around it
