It's whole different user mental anyways. With iPhones you have certain consistency in features. On Android phones, you finally find something that works for you and suddenly vendor decides to do something stupid and change it all up. Also most Android phone makers care very little for staying with them it seems. They just churn out phones and basically force you to buy new one if you want to have software support. Which is why people are jumping from brand to brand. There is hardly any loyalty because you like something this much. I mean, I never had two phones from same brand because of this.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2021soo uhh..reason? lol stability? ecosystem? or your job as ... moreforgot to add that after many years of internet debates and vs videos and spending hours on forums, the fanboy thing is pointless and honestly neither company will care, both have their locked customers and market share, and are mostly just copying each other at this point as to not get left out, yes android has more things and gimmicks and cool new technologies, however apple (and I know people will say that apple steals everything and say it's their own) but honestly it's not so bad, they see the things that work and things that don't, make it better wit their systems and implement it.

just pick whatever you're comfortable with and don't look at things through the eyes of fanboyism (is this even a word?) it's much less of a hassle then

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2021soo uhh..reason? lol stability? ecosystem? or your job as ... moremy job has nothing to do with it, I can easily do most of the required tests on the simulator, as well as if I really want a physical device there are many used cheap iPhones, honestly the stability is a huge part of it, as well as the amount of attention given to each app submitted to the App Store, there are many user oriented guidelines that if the developer doesn't follow then the app will be rejected, things from design to security and privacy.

other reasons for me as a person are the use of stainless steel, I'm the kind of person who prefers tech to be heavier and feels more premium, which isn't really something to take note of but this is just me. As well as the attention to small details that apple has, the animations, transitions, things that just make the UX that much more pleasant when you notice them.

I'm not saying android is bad, it has come a long way since I started using it, I think it was on gingerbread or froyo, but after all this time I honestly don't have the peace of mind to tinker and root and search for custom apps and launchers.

after the last paragraph I can easily say I want something that 'Just works' without needing to fiddle much and worrying about crashes or instability or compatibility or viruses and whatnot.

and as I said before I'll still carry an android so I won't be exclusively using iOS, but it won't be my main phone

Normally their flagship phones should receive 3 major updates. I don't know what will be the case with this Nord model though.
But, their updates are not 100% timely, as Google Pixel ones. I mean if you really care about updates, that will be your best bet.
Still, I think they are doing a pretty good job. Nowadays, Android companies have started to care more and more about software updates. Which is a positive thing for the customers, even if you don't care about updates.

Peter-B, 15 Mar 2021Not for OnePlus 7/7T owners 😒It will come quiet late. Just beta testing has started.

after many years of using android and endorsing it, being almost a fanboy at a point in time, my OnePlus 7 pro will be my last android, after working as an iOS dev and with my friends being android developers, I'm switching as soon as possible honestly, I'll still carry the 7 pro it's an amazing phone, and I'm pretty sure I can't explain why I think iOS is better in every aspect.

waiting for apple to switch to usb-c

although I'd only buy android in the future if given the chance for a foldable, that's for the wow factor only not the OS
